Cry Wolf is what I would call a British horror flick. Most of us have heard the term Britcoms. Well, I've also seen a few horror movies from Britain that have a certain stylistic appeal.

This fits among them.

I would say right away that it reminds me of The Hole starring Thora Birch. 

The Hole is a fantastic movie and Thora Birch is a great actress. 

The main actress in this movie is kind of similar to Thora Birch in the way she approaches the role.

Her name is Lindy Booth and she appears to have been in quite a few different horror flicks. Is she actually British? 

Is the movie actually British?  Well, it really reminds me of a British movie. In fact I don't know where it took place but everything about it seems British. Take that for what you will.

There is a dorm room in this high school for some reason. 

All of the kids live at the high school, which is completely unheard of around here unless you're talking about a boarding school. 

The new kid quickly finds himself friends with the popular kids. 

The popular kids play a sort of Lying Game. 

It's pretty ridiculous.

Also, a young girl was murdered at the edge of town. 

These kids decide they are going to pretend to have murdered the girl and send lots of messages all around school.

However, it appears that the murderer might actually be at the school. 

It becomes sort of a game of cat-and-mouse and sort of a game of who is lying and who is telling the truth.

Is it a terrible movie? Well...Yes. 

However, I like those movies on occasion. I would say that it is a bit too juvenile and that it is lacking almost every feature that a horror aficionado might want. 

If you're bored you might consider checking it out but I wouldn't expect too much from it.
