Winter means turning off the fan.

Around here we run our fans 24 hours a day.... 7 days a week.

When you wake up in the morning you can hear the fan running.

When you get in bed at night you can hear the fan running.

It's a soothing and comfortable sound that you get used to because it's part of your environment.

We probably turn our fans on right around March and keep them running until at least October.

It doesn't matter if you've got the air conditioner running full blast you're still going to want to turn your fan on.

There's nothing like feeling a breeze when it's hot. 

It's almost always tepid and hot around here.

The blowing of the fan becomes just a normal part of life.

It doesn't even seem natural not to have it on.

That's why it's so strange when we finally have to turn it off in October.

Without the fan on you can hear all kinds of things.

People down the street talking.

The animals play fighting.

Somebody has their TV on and I can hear it.

It's unusual and I guess it's kind of strange for somebody that isn't around this kind of weather.

It's just too cold to have the fan on now.

I sleep with a fan no matter the time of year. I can remember my mom sleeping with a fan back when I was a baby. Always had one and I can't sleep without one. Strange in TX it's too cold for a fan while here in TN we're still in the 80s and running the air conditioner at night.
