Busy and wonderful day. It began with getting to the church early this morning for practice as the bell choir had rehearsal at an early time. I also practiced piano a bit while waiting for the bell choir to be done. The church service went well, with the exception of the postlude which needs some polishing in a couple of spots. Carillon Sortie of Mulet. There are two bad page turns in it that I had to slow down on. I still have a week before the organ recital. Afterwards, my wife and I went to Barnes and Nobles to look for some Robert Burns poetry. Ordered a book and found a collection with four poems in it. Afterwards, I went to a Catholic church to practice for a recital I was playing in this afternoon. The concert was a dedication of a new Steinway piano that the church purchased. Great instrument. I played three movements from Debussy's Children's Corner (Dr. Gradus Ad Parnassum, Jimbo's Lullaby, and The Snow is Dancing (ironically, it started snowing outside after I played this) and two hymn arrangements by Mark Hayes (Wonderful Peace and I'll Fly Away). Everything but the last piece went not up to snuff, but everything else went well. We then went out to buy a filter for an air machine we have and then took my wife to work. I have spent the last hour trying to get my classes and syllabi ready for tomorrow. Going to see the movie 1917 tonight with a friend. On the organ, I practiced BWV 613 and ran through the works for the service today.
