*Greetings steemit! This post I want to dedicate to one of my greatest passions within music, and that is the Venezuelan popular repertoire. I have always considered that the music of my country has all the characteristics to be acclaimed and to be even at the same level of the best-known international works.*

*Those who follow me on the platform already know that I always make my own versions of the music of Venezuelan folklore or some adaptation of the commercial pop played in cuatro (traditional instrument). But today I want to offer you something different, also Venezuelan, but from our academic repertoire.*

*Vicente Emilio Sojo is one of the most important musicians that my beloved Venezuela has been born, particularly I admire him for taking the reins of the Santa Capilla School that formed the greatest composers of contemporary music in my country and also for his work in favor of nationalism, rescuing and giving value and importance to our music.*
<br><br>
*Precisely the piece of music that I will present to you in this publication belongs to the work done by Maestro Sojo. For many years I compile innumerable Venezuelan popular songs, many of them anonymous and took them to musical writing with instrumental accompaniment.*
<br><br>
*As an admirer of Venezuelan popular music, it seems to me that this composer is one of the most brilliant musicians to have existed, given that in the Venezuelan music scene there are many pieces and songs that are not written in musical notation.*
<br><br>
*The song that I am going to share with you next is titled "La Luna y Tú", it is one of the many anonymous Venezuelan pieces, but it belongs to the magnificent compilation for voice and piano that Maestro Sojo made. To my surprise, during my years studying music I discovered that even with the excellent work he left us, many of his compositions remain anonymous or are interpreted very little. So much the case in all internet I did not find a version of this work to use it like reference, but it is a pride for me to upload it to the platforms of Steemit and Youtube interpreted by my person.*

His serene fire reflects on me.
And seeing that the rare and luminous queen is followed by a star,
I die of love, of jealousy for her,

While the moon was rising through the wide space,
I can not explain what I felt.
I thought a colored cloud of topaz was telling me:
How good is your beloved, from here I am seeing her,
and she thinks of you!


But everything was in vain,
a dense cloud covered the sky
and yet my soul, bitter pain.
In all my life, saddest I did not have such a feeling,
I felt nostalgia, and in that moment I doubted your love.


With deep sadness alone in you I thought,
and after a while the moon began to shine again.
And seeing me so far away that I was from you I took your portrait,
I took it to my lips, (judged me ungrateful)
I broke down sobbing.
