>>**Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time** **(1 Peter 5: 6)**

Apostle Peter paints a vivid picture of what pertains to God's relationship with man, and brings out some essential issues, which are difficult for man to be or to do, but necessary for our promotion as Christians. The issue of 
- humility - being humble,
- submission - yielding or coming under, 
As Christians, we want to see the mighty hand of God in our lives, in our situation and circumstances. We also want His exaltation and affirmation. But we should know by now that these things we want from God are connected to some things He also requires of us. It's unthinkable for a teacher to pass his student if that student is not studying hard his books, not doing his assignments and above all flopping every test. And how can he exalt and promote a student who exhibit bad character and rebellious behavior in the class?
Peter understood that for God's mighty hand to work on our behalf, we need to yield and submit ourselves under that hand first. This then triggers the exaltation and promotion we all seek and want from Him. Peter assures us that, there is God's due time, there is God's appointed time and season in which He does His things. Jesus said, His time has not come. Paul tells us, God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. And if there is summer time, then there is winter time also, and if there a time for humbling people, then there is a time also for their exaltation. 
Peter exhorted Christians to understand this life and spiritual cycles, so that we can live by them. And cloth ourselves with humility and submission.

Of course, humility and submission are difficult for us to be and do, the reason I don't know, but are essential for our promotion and exaltation. Of course, our society promotes and emphasises different things such as athletic abilities (even without good character),
Intelligence (without morals) and ties, family or friendship (without values). But our God emphasises and promotes the opposite of these. So you and I would never loose, if we conform ourselves to these divine promotion and exaltation triggers.

***So learn to humble yourselves from today and  be submissive,  especially under the strong, powerful and mighty hand of God and  you will have a good results in due season.
So as you go through the day and live life, be humble, be submissive, and yield yourself to God and let His powerful hand rule your life, your body, your mind and your day, for that will bring you divine exaltation one day.
May you learn humility and submission and may you live by them. And may the Lord cause His mighty hand and grace to be seen in your life in Jesus name. Amen***

# pray with me 
Thank you Father for your exaltation and your appointed times. We ask for grace to humble ourselves and to submit to you in all situations. Where we struggle to be humble or submissive, please correct us and help us as they are for our own good and promotion. Bless us Lord and keep us from harm and evil ones in Jesus name. Amen

I will learn to be humble and submissive to the glory of God. Amen
