***Now a great sign appeared in heavens - a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with Child. She cried out in labor and in pain to give birth (Revelation 12: 1 -2)***

It's so sad that very few Christians remember to pray for Israel. We are so focused on our material needs and comfort that it never cross our mind that we owe the Jewish nation our salvation and spiritual blessings and that it's our special and spiritual duty to pray for them, for their salvation, protection and preservation. The truth is, without Israel you and I would have perished and there would be no Christmas for you to celebrate.
After God has thought of the Incarnation - God -in-man to save mankind. He was left with another hurdle to overcome. He would need a special people to work through them to make the Immanuel possible. So He began this task of setting a people for Himself to bring about His purpose.
So Adam gave birth to Cain and Abel. And guess what? Satan bent on making sure there would be no Seed of the woman to crush his head, pushed Cain to murder Abel. With blood shed on Cain's hands, he waited for the next move of God. Well Seth was born and the devil moved to work to terminate God's purpose, and God had no choice but to destroy the whole humanity with flood and rains. Only just eight people were left on earth.. But God was patient, and so was Satan, in this spiritual game of hide -and -seek and attack -and - counter attack.
Finally God separated Abraham for Himself, and began this divine enterprise of saving human race. And after a long history of time, a nation came into existence, described for us as a woman with a Child, clothed with the Sun, with the Moon under her feet, and with a garland of twelve Stars on her head, in labor pains, ready to give birth to the Christ Child. Some churches say that is Mary. Actually the dream of Joseph provides us with clarity that this is the Jewish nation on focus in Biblical prophecy. "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time the sun, the moon and the eleven stars bowed down to me " (Gen 37: 9).
God accomplished His eternal purpose of redemption of the human race through the nation of Israel.

Have you ever thought of it why God couldn't trust any nation to bring the Saviour apart from Israel? The answer is simple. If He has done that Jesus could not have save anyone, because He would have end up idol worshipper. No tribe, tongue, race or nation on earth has been free from idol worship, and Satan's grip. Whether Chinese or Japanese, Africans or Europeans, Indians or Americans, Arabs or Russians, all have been puppet of Lucifer, and his biddings they do. But Israel through God's covenant and laws, the priesthood and prophets, scriptures and synagogue worship, all worked to make the Incarnation possible for all of us to be saved. Oh, I thank God for Israel.
Now you understand why God dealt harshly with Israel whenever they branch to idolatry and demon worship, to the extent of exiling them to Babylon at the perils of their lives. God bless Israel and may all Israel be saved as they acknowledge their Messiah, Jesus the Lord.
So as we approach Christmas, celebrate it with understanding and knowledge, not in sensuality and ignorance. And pray for Israel, for their salvation, protection and preservation. Do it for two reasons: first, you owe your salvation to them and second, the Bible says, those that bless them shall be blessed. And may that blessing be yours in Jesus name. Amen
