<p>It was reported this week that Leonardo DiCaprio's nonprofit organization auctioned off several "dates" with both Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey during an annual event in southern France called the St. Tropez gala. Until the story went public this week, DiCaprio's website still gave detailed descriptions of these auctions, according to <a href="https://pagesix.com/2018/03/10/leo-dicaprio-foundation-auctioned-off-prizes-with-harvey-weinstein/?_ga=2.231654431.1660878397.1520780412-1303935947.1482643314">Page Six</a>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;For both the 2015 and 2016 event, the 'Courtesy of Harvey Weinstein' prize included a date to the oscars with the infamous producer, a private day with him on a movie set and a month long internship.</p>
<p><em>"For the lady attending &nbsp;the parties, be dressed in a one-of-a-kind couture Marchesa dress - and &nbsp;take it home afterwards,"</em> read the auction catalog from 2016.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In 2016, a date with Kevin Spacey was also auctioned off, which involved Spacey coming to the person's home to put on a "private theater performance."</p>
<p>The mentions of Weinstein and Spacey have since been removed from the website, but a representative of DiCaprio's organization made a statement to the New York Post saying that the winners of the auction never actually paid, so they never spent any time alone with the predators.</p>

<p><em>"LDF never received &nbsp;payment for any auction lots donated by Mr Weinstein or Mr Spacey, which &nbsp;were included in our 2015 and 2016 catalogues,</em>" the spokesperson said.</p>
<p>DiCaprio has had an ongoing professional with Weinstein since early in his career, but he condemned the disgraced producer after the the truth of his crimes were made public.</p>
<p><em>"There &nbsp;is no excuse for sexual harassment or sexual assault — no matter who &nbsp;you are and no matter what profession, I applaud the strength and courage of the women who came forward and made their voices heard," </em>DiCaprio said in a statement after the Weinstein scandal hit the news.</p>
<p>However, it was apparently common knowledge in Hollywood that these men were predators, just do a google search for <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=everyone+knew+harvery+weinstein+&amp;ie=utf-8&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;client=firefox-b-1">"Harvey Weinstein everyone knew"</a> or <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=everyone+knew+kevin+spacey&amp;ie=utf-8&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;client=firefox-b-1">"Kevin Spacey everyone knew" </a>and you will see that this was an open secret in the industry. There was even an episode of Family Guy where a baby<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVIU7iEVl58"> escapes from Kevin Spacey's basement.</a></p>
To auction off dates with known predators is at the very least irresponsible, and at the very worst it is assisting those predators.
