Bitcoin isn't Myspace, it's the result of 40 years of research

# People love to compare Bitcoin to Myspace, they are wrong

Bitcoin isn't Myspace for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason is simply that is just isn't.

Myspace is the now has been social media site that pretty much kicked off the social media revolution.

If you were born in the late 1980's or early 90's you probably had a Myspace for a couple years before Facebook eventually ate it's lunch.

Here's the timeline of why Bitcoin won't end up like Myspace:

It's the end result of 40 years of research, technology, and demand.

It's network effects are pretty much impossible to replicate at this point.

It's already the Facebook of crypto.

No other altcoin will take its place as digital gold.

I think Bitcoin is good as it is  - a digital currency that is revolutionizing the growing economy of the world. But on the other side, maybe someone would incorporate bitcoin as a reward to some social media site.

Well, who knows? The world never ceases to amaze us with new discoveries and technologies coming around here and there.

The first movers advantage for Bitcoin and also Ethereum has been so huge even I didn't anticipate it could stay that strong.   Last cycle there was the threat of the flippening but for all Bitcoin's faults the other chains have their issues as well.   They never really hit the 3 points to become invincible and catch Bitcoin.

Yep. It was surprising to me as well. I remember thinking that bitcoin would eventually be replaced. 2017-2018 proved that it will never be replaced as digital gold. Everyone else is competing to be a currency or fabric chain.

It would almost have to have the likability of DOGE, The low fees / no fees of NANO, and be capable of smart contracts and have SDKs to rapidly deploy products, and almost have nearly infinite ability to scale to really take down Bitcoin at this point it seems.   I can't stand sending Bitcoin and Ethereum around..... I get really triggered over it.   That is why I have most of my ETH on the Binance Smart Chain at this point..... at least I can move it around there.
