In this article, we are going to look carefully at five notable generations of the computer system. We are going to explain briefly on each of these generations. So let's start the discussion.

First generation: The first generation computers is developed between 1945 to 1955. This system was developed by John Presper Eckert and John W. Mauchly. The first generations computer uses the vacuum tubes technology. Example of first generation computers include ENIAC, IBM 650 etc.

Second generation: The second generations computers is developed between 1956 - 1963. The second generation computers uses the diodes and transistors technology. Example of second generation computers include ATLAS, IBM 704 etc.

Third generation: The third generations computer is developed between 1964 - 1971. This system was developed by Jack Kilby. The third generations computer uses the integrated circuit (IC) technology. Example of third generation computers include CDC 6000, IBM 360 etc.

Fourth generation: The fourth generations computer is developed between 1980's and 1990's. The fourth generations computer uses very large scale integrated circuit (VLSIC) technology. Example of fourth generation computers include Pentium M, IBM 5100 PC etc.

Fifth generation: The fifth generations computer is developed between 21st century till date. This generation computer uses the artificial intelligence technology. Example of the fifth generations computer include the Linux watch, wearable PC etc.

>Conclusion

The above listed are the generations of computer system which are very notable I.e the inc taken into consideration. As we can see each generation has experience an improvement upon the other, as the generation progresses, the size of the computer reduces but the functionality and speed increases. Thanks for reading through my post.
