Viewing a response to: @bxlphabet/why-have-people-stopped-voing-in-steem
One possible explanation is that people are voting higher percentage with each upvote. A more likely explanation is that inactive accounts configured to sell through smartsteem or MB market are voting infrequently and idling at 100 otherwise since vote buying demand had dried up due to punitive downvote. One way to confirm which explanation is more useful would be to group accounts as active/inactive using only posting/comment history and compare voting trends between groups.

In addition to what Josephsavage has stated another thing we know for sure is the bidbots are voting less too. Personally, I am voting less, as it is exhausting to have to justify everything you do. I came here for fun and engagement and that is what I have focused on. Right now there is a push for POB, which I don't even know what that means. :) Anyway, I'm hoping a focus on SMTs and the future will kick in soon.

This is only about the number of votes, not value, @whatsup, and the bid bots were never a large number of votes. Many of them are still voting for free, so this can't be the large drop. I'm voting more for better curation rewards, but I notice when I check people fighting about downvoting that they have high vp for upvoting, so like you, they have stopped voting. This is surely not what the fork was meant to do. After 2 years of hearing of smts I still do not know what they are.
