Hearthstone: Eyeing Top 10 Legend In The Americas—New Deck & Strategy

After peaking at Legend Rank #11 twice last stream I decided to do a breakdown of my last 100 games to see what was keeping me from breaking through into the top 10. What I found was a very clear indicator of what was working and what wasn't.

The first thing I noticed was that I had an 80% winrate in games that ended by turn 8 or earlier, and only a 15% winrate in games that ended on turn 13 or later.

There were a number of cards that I included in my deck to help me win the late game (Tirion, The Lich King, 2x Sea Giant) that were obviously doing a terrible job at actually winning me games, and would more often than not just give my opponent additional turns to beat me in the long run. As you can see with this chart, the longer a game lasted the more likely I was to lose.

So I removed those four cards for 2x bluegill warrior, and a second spellbreaker and avenging wrath to help me find lethal faster. I also swapped out 2x Acidic Ooze for 2x Amani Berserker so that I could be more proactive in my early turns and put minions that are hard to deal with on the board instead of waiting for my opponent to have a weapon that I can counter. Lastly I swapped out 1 Saronite Chain Gang for 1 Silver Sword to help give me extra reach.
