Hebrews 12:4-6 KJV
[4]:Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
[5]: And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him
[6]: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth".
The Bible says, it is the child the Father loves that he chasteneth. It is only wicked parents, that will see their child going astray, and will not correct him or her.
God spoke through Prophet Haggai, to Zerubbabel, the Son of Shealtiel, Governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the Son of Josedech, the High Priest, to the people, to consider their ways for abandoning the completion of His house, while they lived in ceiled houses. God reminded them of how they laboured without much harvest, they earned wages and put same in leaking pockets, they drank and are not filled, they put on clothes, and they are not warm. The Bible says, it is not of him that runneth, nor of him that willeth, but of God, that showeth mercy. There are those of you, who use all sorts of tactics to fraudulently obtain from people, what does not belong to you. Note that in all your labors and struggles, if God's blessings are not upon them, they will amount to nothing. Just like God Almighty told the people of Judah, He is telling us today, to consider our ways.
I like addressing God's children, my fellow believers in Christ Jesus, wherever you find yourselves, please, consider your ways. Do not join the evil people around you to sin against God, by engaging in sinful, fraudulent and illegal activities. Esau lost his birthright for a morsel of pottage. Many of you are busy pursuing the world at the expense of your salvation. There is so much criminality everywhere, bribery and corruptions, embezzlement, outright stealing, falsification of figures, etc, both in the private and public sectors. Today, our Youths and even some of the adults no longer want to do legitimate jobs in order to make a living. What many get involved with now is internet scams (yahoo businesses), and even ritual killings in order to get rich quickly. If you are involved in any of the above, the Lord is telling you to consider your ways. The Bible says, what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loose his own soul, therefore, consider your ways! Remember that one day, we shall individually stand before the Almighty God, to give account of our lives while here on earth, to Him.
Our society has today completely degenerated to its lowest ebb, as a result of sin. No one calls for justice. So much wickedness both by those in positions of authority, and in all spheres of society. There is no fear of God, anymore. The Almighty God, is today, telling everyone of us, to consider our ways. God loves us, and does not want any of us to perish, therefore, consider your ways.
Esau repented when he came back to his sensibilities and realized that he has sinned against his father. His sins were forgiven him, and he was re-integrated into the family. Will you make a u-turn today, from your lives of compromise and sin, the Lord will receive you unto himself. Simply acknowledge your sins, and all your shortcomings, even those things you did out of ignorance, confess and repent of them. Then, invite Jesus into your heart, as your Lord and Savior. Your sins will be forgiven you, and you shall be saved, and from that moment, the Almighty God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, will become your companions, and will direct you in all your ways.
Let's urgently consider our ways, in everything we do, for it is appointed unto a man once to die, and after which is judgement. (Hebrews 9:27).
