**In the [previous post](https://steemit.com/writing/@jsantana/in-brazil-nothing-is-yours-but-the-government-part-1-the-dream-of-owning-a-home) you saw how difficult it is for us Brazilians to realize the "dream of home ownership". Challenges such as documentation, taxes and other bureaucratic obligations that prevent and much for the citizen to exercise his full natural right ownership. You have also seen how complicated is the question of property in Brazil. Here nothing is of the citizens in the end, but of the government. With this making Brazil become an absolutist state, keeping the population always at the mercy of the wills of politicians and public servants who make the Brazilian state**.

*Today I will talk about the challenges of what I have called: "Have a Car in the Garage". What are the challenges encountered by a Brazilian who wants to have a car, so he can get around the streets, avenues and roads in Brazil? All this I will try speak in this post, which is the last part of my post called: "In Brazil Nothing is Yours, But Government"*.

My dream since childhood is to have a Jeep brand car. This car has always awakened a very good and nostalgic feeling in me and I'm sure that one day I fulfilled my dream of having a Jeep. A strong, durable, economical, adventurous car that fights any terrain. It's spacious and the current models of the Jeep, as they are with more technological components, are sure to be much better than the time I knew it between the 90s and 2000s.

![pexels-photo-119435.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdchqnFrgDDpB3QsdXyucUNMUDDLm7dwSThhAxDFR1ym6/pexels-photo-119435.jpeg)

[source](https://www.pexels.com/photo/car-vehicle-automobile-automotive-119435/)

But in order for me to have a Jeep car several will be the barriers so that I can get it and keep it and when these barriers are in Brazil, they become almost insurmountable.

-

**In Brazil, taxes that affect the price of a car represent, according to experts, up to 54% of the value of the vehicle. Certainly something surreal, abusive and absurd. When I go to a dealership to buy my Jeep already have to keep in mind that it will be expensive, very expensive and the negotiation will not be easy at all**.

After the happiness of having fulfilled my dream of having bought my Jeep, there are several costs, barriers or state difficulties that prevent me from being completely happy to have fulfilled my great dream of having my Jeep in the garage.

![florescent-arabia-saudi-desertactivities-73610.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSTdcMZWRra7Ko5U91dLZ3J7Vf4gCWJrK7wgcAF9psNMR/florescent-arabia-saudi-desertactivities-73610.jpeg)

[source](https://www.pexels.com/photo/red-jeep-wrangler-on-white-covered-field-73610/)

**Among these barriers are the license plate that must be made with the transit authority of my state. It is not a simple process, it has cost and like every public service in Brazil, it is inefficient, slow, you will have to wait hours to be attended to, thousands of documents will be requested to be able to carry out the process and in addition you will have to deal as always with the ill will and arrogance of the public official who will attend to him**.

In addition to the license, the other barriers are the IPVA (vehicle tax) that translates would be: "*For you to walk the roads, you will have to pay, otherwise your vehicle will be seized by us and it will be released only when you pay what you owe, plus the cost we had when taking your vehicle off the road and neither complain. If you complain, you lose your car, because we will auction it*".

![car-718781_640.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWn1zS5minBXQqgncuF2QtCvVjanq4goBqYMHMVB4VjqN/car-718781_640.jpg)

[source](https://pixabay.com/pt/carro-automotivo-carros-com%C3%A9rcio-718781/)

This "affectionate" tax is paid annually by all those who own cars and motorcycles in the country and its value varies according to the value of the car and corresponds to 1/12 of the value of it. **If the price of my Jeep was $100,000, the value of my annual IPVA is $8,333.00 (!!!)**. Yes friends, this is a robbery. And worst of all is that this value is not reversed in the quality of the roads. Common here in Brazil we have roads full of holes and without conditions of even a tractor or tank of war to pass through it with so many imperfections along the way.

**In addition to the IPVA, the biggest obstacles for vehicle owners in Brazil are the fines. And here in Brazil there is a fine for everything. It seems that the politicians who make these laws make so many absurd laws with no concept, just so that they can increasingly profit from the billion dollar industry of traffic tickets in Brazil. Easy to find several surveillance cameras on the avenues of cities that serve so that traffic police can find some "driver offender"**.

![pexels-photo-39943.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaQMCieNyAx4HTsTMX1iTrdBKJyDcq11xksmqmgM1aZHL/pexels-photo-39943.jpeg)

[source](https://www.pexels.com/photo/brasil-cars-city-daylight-39943/)

**In addition to the traffic ticket, the other enemy and I believe is the largest of all those who own any vehicle in Brazil, is the price of fuel. Ah...fuel. The price of the main component of a vehicle, the one that does the same getting around only increases here and now every month. It is worth remembering that in Brazil there is no competition in the fuel sector, with Petrobrás being the only state oil company that operates the market**.

Being a state company, is in the hands of politicians and being something in the hands of politicians, we already know that it will not work and exploiting the citizen is a virtue of these to whom the people give the power through the vote. Therefore, fuel prices in Brazil never follow the market price trend in other countries of the world.

![car-refill-transportation-transport.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQUwg1XQ2mJ5WZDyZexPrefq2SKnxkfxEizLPX6LDoRjT/car-refill-transportation-transport.jpg)

[source](https://www.pexels.com/photo/car-refill-transportation-gas-9796/)

**The price of the liter of gasoline only increases what it is doing mainly in this moment of economic crisis that Brazil is going through, many people give up on getting around with their cars and start to use the public transport that here is of poor quality and several are the reports of assaults within collective transportation**.

It is not easy to struggle to have a better life in Brazil. With these two posts that were actually an analysis of what I live here, I hope I have shown you when the state (rulers and servants) and their structure are the greatest enemies of the social and economic freedom of any people, in any country and in any time.

**Nothing we can do with the sweat of our work is ours, everything is from government. We do not have our respected natural rights of property. We are robbed, coerced and threatened at all times by those who call themselves "authorities" and the most ironic is the fact that they say they do what they do to "protect us" and everything is "for the good of all."**

It Will Be?

Não tô sabendo. Sai do Discord. Qualquer coisa, aparece lá no steemit.chat. A ideia é essa mesmo, mostrar a real. Em posts mais amplos irei sempre que possível fazer as duas versões. Valeu!
