창에는 방패로 대형 극장의 반격이 시작된다

며칠전에 넷플릭스의 진격이라는 포스팅을 올리고 얼마
지나지 않아 롯데시네마에서 세계 최초로 삼성전자의
시네마 LED 판넬로 무장한 4K화질의 극장요 LED스크린관을
오픈한다는 기사가 올라왔습니다.

내용을 간추려보면 지난 3월 미국 라스베거스에서 세계
최초로 공개한 극장 전용 LED스크린을 제2롯데월드의
월드타워 영화 상영관에서 "슈퍼S관"에 설치했다는
내용인데요.

SUPER S의 사운드시스템은 하만의 JBL 스피커가 새로 설치됐고 
하만의 사운드 전문가가 직접 튜닝 작업을 했다고 합니다.

신규 컨텐츠를 가지고 스트리밍 영화를 선보인 넷플릭스의
창을 압도적인 화질과 최첨단 스크린 방패로 방어한다걸
보니 확실히 에디슨의 첫 영사기를 발명후 80년대에 들어
첫 텔레비젼이 만들어 졌을때 극장의 위기라고 호들갑 떨던 
이야기가 떠오르네요.

이 LED 시네마는 이제 영사기가 필요없게 되었습니다. 전공판을
통해 화면과 스피커의 소리가 동시에 울리게 될테니깐요.

여담이지만 삼성과 CJ의 오너그룹 관계가 썩 좋지 않은 이때에
삼성이 롯데 시네마에만 독점 납품하는게 눈길을 끌기는 하네요.

어찌됬건 이런 영사기가 필요 없는 시네마 LED 스크린을 
우리나라가 세계 최초로 상용화 했다는것에 대해 무척
자랑스럽게 생각합니다.

넷플릭스와 대형 멀티플랙스극장, 그리고 IPTV업체들간의
삼국지중 누가 엔터테인먼트 사업의 최종승자가 될지가 
관점 포인트입니다.

옥자를 거부했던 대형 극장을 피해 상영했던 작은 독립영화관의 
부흥이 이러나길 빌었지만 쉽지 않네요.

그렇지 않을까요? 그래도 좀 쌩뚱맞은 소리긴 한데 LCD가 PDP보단 전기를 덜먹기는하죠.
