The competition is heating up and so is the plagiarism. I think putting a watermark is good choice for me to make sure that my photos are not stolen. # J CA L U M P I T

That is sad to pass off the work of others as your own. 

Well the prize you give is a big help but to stoop down that low is to disrespect the artist in you and themselves. 

Yes competition is fierce for your daily winners but to past off another person's photo is cheating. Maybe you should be fierce that if found to be guilty that they are blacklisted. May seem harsh but integrity is key.

I love looking at the pics that are sent your way because it does not only show exotic locales and subjects but also gives us a glimpse of the personality of a person.

As you said each one has a signature of how they take their photos.their framing, the way that they caption theirp photos shows us who they are.it is very personal. 

I support you whatever way you want to proceed.

This photography contest is really good to know the prize of 10 SBD hope you will enjoy .

Theres far too many posts that are just copies from stock photography sites. I try to flag as many as i can to steemcleaners but it's a never-ending battle. If I see really good photos i instantly do a reverse image search on google images to check that the author is the original photographer. Most of the time they aren't. It just devalues genuine work as no-one will believe that a good photo is actually taken by the person posting it. I got really annoyed yesterday when a post with 3 images in it, all from a stock website, got a $30 upvote from a whale who, i guess, didnt realise that the images were stolen.

Fellow steemians always remember that all of us have a greatwork,greatphotos and greatness in everything. Just be Honest and believe in ourself that we can.

Shame on the people that steal the work of others!  I've had this happen to me many times.

@juliank, you said it so eloquently! But it is sad that it has come to this. Watermarked the photo is just a small step to deter thieves, but it is not totally smooth sailing. It just takes longer for them to work on...

You are right though, IT IS VERY EASY to find out the original owner of the photo.

What a shame. Those who want to make fast money end up nowehere but in the ditch.I think you should warn them once and ban them next time. It will be time consuming, I know, but that's the only way to keep the contests healthy. Keep up the good work

It is sad that People think of winning 1 contest will change their lifestyle... obviously the reward is nice but is not that the prize will keep you for a whole month. So I really don't get why People are trying to participate if they don't have their own pictures. Everytime I post a picture to the contest I am mostly sure I won't win but as I said in one of my posts i do it for the photography community on Steemit.

Dear @juliank, I admire you by the way you place this theme, so negative and the main damaging factor for a photographer, in such a positive and encouraging way, calling for a reflection and for self-improvement by those who commit plagiarism. 
Plagiarism is an offense, it's against the law. 
I'm not indulgent with plagiarists, I myself have found out some of my photos being plagiarized by others and try to take immediate measures. 
But how many more I can't find out? I seldom use a watermark! And in the Internet is impossible to trace them all.  
We, the photographers, study hard, work hard and make a lot of investment in gear so our work can be worthwhile. 
I have to admit I was surprised by the tone of your post, in a positive way. 
I wouldn't be so swift. I would be furious! Cheers and take care!

..i've been trying to complete the daily themed but i cant but still i didnt jumped into plagiarism,i feel proud when i post my own shot,even if i didnt win😊
..thats why i just felt comfortable in expressing my thoughts by commenting on the winning entries with all honesty!

I have noticed this since doing my contest.  And your right it usually painfully obvious it’s been stolen. Hat user then gets turned in to Steem  cleaners  and downvoted into oblivion by cheetabot..   it’s seriously not cool...  just don’t do it...

You are right  @juliank, last week my three post photography was stolen and changed from color to black and white, and delete my signature, which I wrote *sk@rt*, after that incident I changed my signature like now, and from now on every follow this contest I just attach a piece of photo only, first I attach 3 pieces of photos, the thief was deleted one photo and uploaded two other sheets. I was very upset with the incident, he has limited me to share photos with other steemian, I know, I am not professional in taking photos, but I keep trying to improve the quality of my photos.
