<center> surface of the sun</center> Hello everyone! Here are two of four acrylic pours I did this week. For this set, I chose very different colours than I would normally use. I ran out of pinks, white, and my favourite blues so I challenged myself to pour with some different colour combinations. Both of these paintings were done with a mix of neon yellow, neon red, golden yellow, and gold. I was very happy about the outcomes! I've been testing how the materials used (acrylic paint, white glue, and water) change based on how and when you mix them. I achieved a really interesting mountain mass in <a href="https://steemit.com/art/@justatouchfey/white-mountain-acrylic-pouring-oa6xc4dx">this painting</a> during my first attempts at pouring but so far haven't been able to achieve anything so concrete again. This time I let the paints sit after they were mixed or about two or three days because I hoped they would dry up a bit and maybe make some more masses but it didn't really happen. I'll keep experimenting. The ratio I was given for mixing is 40% paint, 30% glue, and 30% water. I've been slowly lessening the water and upping the paint to see if I can get it to dry out a bit. The top painting above I called "surface of the sun" because of how fiery it looks. Even though I wouldn't normally choose this colour combination I felt really good while I was pouring it. It is on a very small canvas compared to the others I've shown you. The others were more comparable to paper size (8x11) while these ones were more like greeting card size. As usual, the photo doesn't do the original justice but the photo is rather striking too. Some things I like about this one are how vibrant the colours are. I feel like this reflects my mood recently. I've felt wonderful. Very vibrant and active. It makes me happy to see that in this painting. I feel like I could have improved upon creating definition from one colour to the next. The gradient feel is nice, but in some ways the more interesting shapes get more lost in this one (especially the photo of it) than the others I've posted. <center>  reflection of the sun</center> While still quite warm, "reflection of the sun" is a bit cooler and I think the heavier presence of gold creates more definition than the last one. I think these two work really well as a set together which is why I posted them together. I really like the cracked sand texture of this second one. A bit more desert like than the first.
