Life began throwing stones at _Akwasi_ when he completed Junior HIgh School. Initially, his father had informed him about his intention to send him abroad right after his examination. Things started falling apart when _Akwasi's_ father suddenly develop a strange illness. Several native doctors were consulted, different concoctions were given to him and even asked him not to take in certain foods but it seems his maker wanted him to come home and have eternal rest. _Akwasi_  lost his father on Thursday afternoon when he was about to feed him. With his dreams shattered and things looking blur, he decided to travel to Cape Coast in search for menial job. His family has handed over proceeds from his father's funeral to him.

On one Saturday , he packed some of his belongings and left _Amasu_ early in the morning. Before he left, he went to the family head and informed him of his intentions to seek for job in the city. His father's death was a big blow and he was finding life difficult in their village. _Agya Boamah_ agreed , advised him and prayed for travelling mercies for his grandchild. Before seeing Akwasi off , he told _never to give up and always remember that good things come to those who wait._

When _Akwasi_ arrived in Cape Coast, he joined the Fisher folks and started learning how to fish. Because he had stayed in his village for a long time, things were very rough at the beginning but his determination and good interpersonal skills did it for him. It caused him to be loved  by all at the seashore. He would mend fishing nets for people and also assist the fishmongers to carry their loads.

There was something eating him up all this while. He always yearned to join the fishermen on their fishing escapade but his master , _Agya Arthur_ would not even listen. After several years of serving him, he decided to quit the job and join some guys who had planned to travel to Libya. On the eve of their journey he remembered _Agya  Boamah's_ farewell message , _never give up and good things come to those who wait._  He decided to abort the idea of travelling to Libya and to continue working with his master.

Early in the morning, when he was about to brush his teeth, he heard _Agya Arthur_ shouting his name on top of his voice. _Akwasi_ ran to him only to be told he will be joining the fishermen who would go fishing on that day. With so much excitement, he took his clothes and jumped into the boat. His years of understudying _Agya Arthur_ paid off when they had a bumper catch because of his innovations and creative way of throwing the net. The chief gathered his people on that day rewarded him on his achievement, and advised the other young men to emulate _Akwasi's_ humility and perseverance.In _Akwasi's_ small room in the evening, he shared tears of joy and said to himself ; _It's better late than never._
