Die Jahresringe geben ein Statement ab über das Alter des Baumes und wahrscheinlich auch noch mehr für einen geübten Baumleser.

Aber was bedeuten die Linien, die die Baumscheibe fast zu einer Landkarte machen?

Vielleicht war hier ein Tier unterwegs auf der Suche nach Nahrung? Ein Holzwurm hinterlässt eigentlich viele Löcher...

Hallo Kadna,

der Baum hat bereits vor längerer Zeit das Leben eingestellt.
Jetzt bin ich(genau wie du) fasziniert von der Maserung, suche mir dazu die Augen aus dem Kopf und kann Kroatien nirgendwo auf der Karte finden. 
Ahnung über das Wie,Warum und Weshalb habe ich natürlich nicht!

Sieht wirklich aus wie ein Landkarte!
Was der Grund dafür ist, kann ich dir leider auch nicht sagen...Dennoch finde ich die Zeichnung sehr faszinierend und bin immer wieder aufs Neue begeistert, was die Natur so zu bieten hat!

Das sind sehr interessante Bilder von dem Baum.
Ich würde auf einen Pilz tippen.

Es gibt Pilze,  die dem Baum schaden können.
Sie befallen lebende Bäume und bilden eine
Art Fäulnis. Diese Pilze fallen bei Rissen in der
Rinde ein.

Andere Pilze gehen eine Symbiose mit dem 
Baum ein. Sie leben mit dem Baum zusammen
und unterstützen ihn sogar mit Nährstoffen 
und Wasser. 
Der Baum versucht im besten Fall, sich gegen
Pilze zu wehren. 
Der Pilz hingegen schützt sich auch mit einer 
bestimmten Abgrenzung. 
Diese sind wahrscheinlich die Linien, welche 
für den Pilz das schützende Bollwerk darstellen. 
In diesem Bereich wächst der Pilz.

Ich hoffe, das war richtig.
Ich selbst habe nur eine kleine Zimmerpflanze
zu Hause, die ab und zu mal gegossen wird.
Mit größeren Gewächsen habe ich wohl nur
im Büro zu tun, gegen die ich mich auch 
abgrenzen muss.   :)
