People shouldn't be judge because of their color because at the end of the day , we are all the same WE are humans

What is funny about it is that everyone is a people of color.  Such stuff is used by mind control (government) to separate us from one another. Such distracts us from what is important. Love is what is important.

I think you are right, especially in cases like mine, I am bald and my dome is red, then since I live ina tropical country my arms are really tanned, very dark color, and then I never wear anything but long pants, no shorts, so my legs are like a sheet of white paper, so I certainly am a person of many colors.

Becoming too touchy as to which terms are being used for different races and groups is just another mind prison culture.
Succumbing to extreme political correctness will put you in exactly this prison and there will always be the ones denouncing others for not playing along. I'm not advocating insulting speech and behaviour but sticking to common sense and intuitive wisdom.

@kafkanarchy84, totally agree with you, why should a persons colour categorize them into a particular "grouping"?  Mentioning Ethnicity is fine, since this encompasses culture and ancestry, but grouping people by color has no valid purpose as far as I can see.

Great points!  It never hit me before the irony of "colored people is racist", but if the change the order and say "people of color" it is PC.  Plus the very term "racist".  It's not like we are mistreating aliens, we are all the same race, just different amounts of melanin.

Aren't people who lay out on the beach all day people of color too? How about people covered with tattoos? I'm gonna start calling people with colorful tattoos people of color. Makes more sense to me.

For everyone else, I'll refer to them as "people of high melanin levels," so long as they've gone and gotten their melanin levels checked so they can actually verify their minority status.

It's funny the mind loops that we all get ourselves into.

Ideally, we should be color blind, as in -- we don't see color any differently than we see hair or eye color.

The problem is that skin color is often linked to culture.  And that's where the trouble begins.  Skin color has no relationship to attitudes or beliefs, but culture definitely does.  Culture represents a certain way of looking at the world, and people of the same culture will often have a predictable response to certain things.  And what we often call "racism" is not actually a reaction to race or color, but is instead a reaction to culture.

In the US where I live, I really believe that the attempt to integrate black and white cultures has failed -- we haven't been successful in creating one single, integrated culture.  And I don't put that blame just on white people.  Both colors share it equally. (Notice I'm ignoring the PC "African American."  I'm "European American" but come on people -- insisting you call me that is an affectation that does not help the situation.)

For integration to work, white people would have had to welcome black people, and black people would have had to turn a blind eye to the minority of white people who weren't welcoming.  But that didn't happen enough on either side.  And the result has been a failure of integration, such that the two cultures now live separately and don't mix all that much.   I notice that black people are uncomfortable if they are in a situation of all white people and will even move to find a more "racially diverse" community, and I understand that because I feel awkward in a situation of all black people.  Not because the color bothers me, but because I don't understand the jokes, the expectations, the mannerisms or sometimes even the language.  It is a different culture.  And that is difficult to bridge.  It's literally like being in another country.

Occasionally I run across black people who don't care what color I am -- they are open and for some reason I can relate to them without anything getting in the way.  They are me, just in a body of another color -- and I often notice that these people are from an African, rather than African American, culture.  I despair sometimes because that's how it should be for all of us.  But I don't know how to bridge that gap without that outstretched hand on the other side.

Agreed an individual should be valued by his/hers actions in this world, nothing else ...
