*Maha Meru, that's the nickname for the highest mountain peak in East Java, with an altitude of 3676 meters above sea level (MDPL) and is also one of the seven highest mountains in Indonesia. Incredible charm makes me want to go back, covered in winter and the ocean of clouds makes me forget the pain of struggling to get to the top.*

Hello stemian friends, how are you today, hopefully healthy and always healthy..
in my diary this time I want to share about my trip to the city of Malang, to climb Mount Semeru..

Thursday, June 24 , 2021.., I swing my legs and carry my carriage to go to Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport Aceh to the city of Jakarta, with the determination to meet my best friends in the city of Malang, return to nostalgia and want to enjoy the good times at Ranu Kumbolo again..

The plane took off at 11:30 WIB, and of course I had followed the health protocol by doing a Rapid test before leaving. On the plane I just watched and hoped that the weather would be fine.. upon arriving at Soekarno - Hatta Airport, Jakarta, I again continued the journey by using the Airport Train to go to Gambir Station, and when I arrived at Gambir station I continued the journey by using an Online Ojek to Station Senen and at exactly 17:20 WIB I arrived there, before leaving I had already booked a train ticket to Malang City. Arriving at the Senen station, a friend was already waiting for me there because previously we had an appointment to meet at the Senen station, we also had dinner together then prayed and immediately took the train to Malang City.

On the way, I continued to chat with my friends and I saw that there were many climbers who wanted to go to the same city, my happiness and enthusiasm to climb even more.

Along the way I saw a lot of natural beauty from the various cities that I passed, night fell and I fell asleep. Exactly at 09:00 WIB, I finally arrived in Malang City, and my friends, the trio were already waiting at the Kepanjen Malang station.

Arriving in the city of Malang, I also met my other friends and spent the night walking around Malang City before leaving for Ranupani tomorrow.

Kampung Warna Warni is one of the places I visited in the city of Malang,
This village is neatly and beautifully arranged so that many tourists come to visit, and one of the places for filming young Indonesians is "Yo Wes Ben".

![IMG_20210625_090607.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdtdXjQqXBdPERrvnzVEjgmhkLJWknSg8ZdbtCmXYFV83/IMG_20210625_090607.jpg)

Before leaving for Semeru I also visited Mount Bromo, using a Trail Motor and I was alone with my friend. The trio we became super heroes and it was such a beautiful moment...how can we not use a trail bike with a long journey up and down twists and turns The mountain curve is very cool isn't it, I never imagined it before.

![IMG_2210625_094133.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVJMw9YtPzH35z1FwsHXy23rQcLq35hmAgT3w2WRecbnt/IMG_20210625_094133.jpg)

For two days after arriving in Malang City, finally the moment I've been waiting for the most, the trip to Mount Semeru.. Previously we had registered online through the Gunung Semeru website, at that time we signed up for seven people.

Our journey from Malang to Ranupani is approximately 4 hours drive, the seven of us use motorbikes with carrier equipment in the back, yes, that's the stature of Nature Lovers, hihih, a worn out motorbike carrier bag, which is important to arrive and enjoy the trip and togetherness.

The Ranupani post with an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level became a permit post and checked all visitors, and we went straight to the registration area then we were given brief directions by the Mount Semeru management committee, finished the direction and had lunch at 16:00 WIB, the journey began Before leaving I had a stomach ache, and it turned out that at that time I had my period (menstruation), it crossed my mind that I might not be able to get to the top and I was a little insecure about my physique to get to the Peak.

![IMG_20210626_125845.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmT2JxqiDSuK7b2v7z2CiuNKQzXGou9izvq2aovZv7BT2U/IMG_20210626_125845.jpg)
Photo Together with other climbers at the gate of the climb to the summit.

The journey began with laughter filling our journey which was already heading towards dusk, the coolness began to envelop, with a slightly sore stomach and I continued to walk quietly and with determination to be able to get to the top, it didn't feel like little by little we arrived. in post one,

Pos 1 with a height of 2266 masl which is located in the Landengan Dowo block, is three kilometers away from Ranupani, with a travel time of approximately one and a half hours, there we rested to stretch out and enjoy a cut watermelon whose price for a piece has reached five thousand rupiah, hihihi understand, yes. started high...

![IMG_20210626_161404.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVJkyMc78C7SZQqW19qXTmNMWok1FUETV1NLBD974sU7R/IMG_20210626_161404.jpg)

it was getting dark to get to Ranu Kumbolo, it was still a bit far, the weather was getting very cold and by that time we had passed post 1 and finally headed for Post 2, which is at Watu Rejeng with an altitude of 2390 meters above sea level. we stopped and rested for a while at post 2.

![ 2021-06-26 at 12.07.26.jpeg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQbJdnRkbsZVnVYAcpy5AZZaH5W7P4RZP3kiuJmNyR6pc/%20Image%202021-06-26%20at%2012.07.26.jpeg)

After resting we resumed the journey, little by little and the silence began with the breath starting to pant, hihiih, the shoulders began to feel cramped due to the effect of the heavy carrier, we are still enthusiastic, occasionally meeting with other climbers, greeting each other and giving encouragement , the road to Pos Tiga is the longest route of all routes from Ranu Pani to Ranu Kumbolo.

And finally we arrived at Post three, to be precise still in the Watu Rejeng area, there are lots of climbers resting, at post three there are two bridges, one Long Bridge called Janik Bridge and another Short Bridge which is an old bridge or bridge Rejeng stone.

The weather is getting colder and the light is starting to dim a sign that dusk has arrived, we continue our journey to post four, my friends and I are still excited while singing songs to each other, encouraging each other even though we are very tired, and we arrived at the post four here is the last post that must be passed before heading to Ranukumbolo to spend the night there.

Post four which is located at an altitude of 2451 meters above sea level is a resting place for climbers before descending to the Ranukumbolo shelter, here we can see how beautiful Ranukumbolo lake which stretches up to 12 hectares looks bluish, because June - August is the best time to climb Mount Semeru.

It was getting dark we started wearing thick jackets, and flashlights on our heads, we will continue our journey to the Ranukumbolo shelter and will set up a tent and spend the night there, when we arrived at Ranukumbolo, exactly at 21.15 WIB, we felt shivers how not with very cold weather and minus 0.5 degrees centigrade it stabs to the bone. we all rushed to set up our tents and turned on our portable stoves, enjoyed a cup of coffee and brewed Indomie, well my taste indomie wkwkkw

After dinner and my body started to feel uncontrollably achy and my stomach hurt more and more, with the cold weather and finally we slept in one tent, four of us, and the other three in another. my back started to feel bad I felt I was unable to continue the journey, luckily I brought painkillers and rubbing oil that I usually apply on my feet.

The morning arrived, at exactly 06: 00 WIT, the cold weather penetrated the bones, I also had a stomach ache and wanted to defecate, because I felt my body was very wrinkled and dirty, I immediately took my toiletries and changed my pads, I went straight to the bathroom. , fortunately in Ranukumbolo they provide many toilets. My fingers don't feel anything because it's so cold and I'm strong enough to take a shower to be fresh, the weather is really cold, making the tent covered with ice heheheh,

after taking a shower I returned to the tent to see my friends had started making coffee and the other climbers greeted each other, my pain disappeared instantly seeing the beautiful scenery in front of me.

![IMG_20210627_231855_843.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbh4pVu9g12gQA3uXMMkhEhddxoKJXY52SyidmQYZTNPS/IMG_20210627_231855_843.jpg)

![IMG_20210627_061228.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY4zf8B642SXYYnSZQDXtumQBjJBFXkdVLFedTnMF6CnX/IMG_20210627_061228.jpg)

![IMG_20210627_233321_841.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXwUYEEoLnSt1VaMsZx73oq3UkjmTeiRR4MiDkJYp4KRm/IMG_20210627_233321_841.jpg)

The break was over, after capturing some photos at Ranukumbolo, having breakfast and rushing to continue the journey to Kalimati, that's the name of the place where the last tent was set up to get to the top of Mahameru. Exactly at 11:00 WIB, we departed from Ranukumbolo to the time of death, indeed it was not far away from the estimate that we would arrive at around 15:00 WIB.

On our way through a very steep incline which is called the Rise of Love, from where did the name of this climb of love come from, I don't even know, It is said that if we think about the name of the person we love while climbing this incline, without looking back, that person will think of us hihihi for those who believe it, woahhhhh

![ 2021-06-27 at 13.22.44 (1).jpeg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmNv7cXS6cfwdtTFgPWjggBHUy2eQwx8f9DxxjtJyGmcEG/%20Image%2021-06-27%20at%2013.22.44%20(1).jpeg)

We continued our journey, and I also felt very tired, the heat of the sun made my stamina decrease, on our way through Oro Oro Ombo which is located at an altitude of 2460 masl, it is next door to Ranukumbolo, only separated by the incline of love, Oro Oro Ombo itself is a savanna with a wide meadow, usually in certain seasons the flowers in the Oro Oro Ombo savanna grow to bloom making the beauty of semeru increase, but unfortunately when I go there again it doesn't bloom wkwkwkw

I didn't realize we arrived at the Cemoro Kandang post which is located at 2500 masl or 11.5 kilometers from Ranupani, imagine how far I walked up and down hihihihi, but in the Cemoro Kandang area, the cage itself is relatively flat, so it's not so exhausting..

To get to Kalimati, we have to pass the Cemoro Kandang route, and this is the toughest and longest route because the terrain continues to climb with the weight of the carrier in the sling making stamina drain, little by little me and my friends continue to walk occasionally meeting with other climbers on the hiking trail and encourage each other, so that a sense of cohesiveness and a spirit of togetherness is established.

Jambangan Post, finally we arrived at Jambangan Post at an altitude of 2700 masl, here we rest and enjoy cold drinks that are sold at this Jambangan post, ..

![IMG_20210627_231855_841.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbmgpscoxLWbc6bCpNUi58LzvFeVW4rKww4PhbSaf9vc5/IMG_20210627_231855_841.jpg)

we continued our journey, the sun felt right in the middle of my head, the weather was very sunny, on the way we were able to see the peak perched majestically in the distance, it crossed my mind, will I be able to be on top of the peak, only hope and prayer in my heart and encouragement from climbing friends who can make me excited.

Finally, I and my friends arrived at the last shelter, namely Kalimati, here is the place where the last tent was erected before continuing the journey to the top, the KALINI shelter is located at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level, here there is a water source called the source of semen, climbers can take water at the source of semen but it's okay if it's too late, because in the area of the source of semen it's still often seen wild animals like tigers..

![IMG_20210627_231855_853.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW4BQAFzWfKQNhBntzDEz8Tza7jkU8U1A4jJTbftcKef6/IMG_20210627_231855_853.jpg)

Here we set up a tent to prepare lunch, as usual the women when on the mountain are always queens, suddenly amnesia for cooking, just eat the dishes that the men provide hihihi. After lunch we rested to prepare for the actual battle at midnight, we slept soundly until the afternoon. some of my friends went to the source of semen to fetch water and I was busy preparing medicine and vitamins that would be brought to the summit tonight.

It's already 00:00 and it's heard from a distance the other climbers have started to pack some necessities in their respective small bags, as well as me and my friends... the seven of us were getting ready to charge the new batteries in our head flashlights, each of us carrying a spare battery, enough water for medicine and some food that can be brought, a thick jacket with gloves, a head cover so that it doesn't get cold. how not to climb to the top of Mahameru must be in the middle of the night because the trip to the top takes approximately seven hours of travel with a steep incline on rocky sand.

Extreme, yes, that's the picture to the top of Mahameru, after getting ready we prayed and embraced each other hoping to arrive safely to the destination and return safely, the journey began little by little my footsteps began to feel very tired, the cold weather was a bit scary and scary blanketed our night on the climb,.

Feeling very tired in the distance I looked up and there was a light, and I asked my friend "is it still far?" soon, and continuously for a while so I stopped asking hihihi

in the middle of the trip there was a little disaster that happened, the trio and I were left behind, and we passed a road that was not uncommon for other climbers to pass, the two of us, and I began to fear that the road we took immediately met with sand and steep climbs, at the In the middle of the trip I almost gave up feeling tired, and wanting to sleep started to haunt me, I had time to say to my friends.. "Yo I'm not strong enough", then we sat on the slope near the big rocks, while my friend said "remember your struggle to Malang is far away, your struggle has come to this, you still want to give up,".

Finally I moved back slowly, a few steps stopped, stopped again, how could I not, the road we were on was sand with a steep incline, if not careful, we could slip and fall into the abyss. On the way we were alone and when we saw the light, it turned out that we were back on the normal route of the other climbers, thank God I was a little relieved, the time was already 02:30 in the morning
the peak is still far away, on the way various types of people I met there were cheerful, exclamations and I had fallen and crawled at that time because it was rather difficult to rest on the sand which could slide

"Aing Macannn..." shouted one of the climbers who came from one of the universities in the city of Bandung, unconsciously I laughed and they laughed so that it made my tiredness a little less. Again and again I swung my steps, suddenly my stomach acid flared up, oh my God I thought I was barely able to get to the top, my friend immediately gave me bread and I immediately drank medicine on the slopes of the mountain just leaning against the rocks, very extreme, my friend....

The trip was back and I saw that it was starting to get a bit light, it turned out that I was almost to the top, and the beauty I saw first before reaching the top, namely the morning sun at the peak of Semeru Masya Allah.

![IMG_20210628_001344_107.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPYNBhCiBJPYJWJjdg2fgk36REqRqvoYxNywredVCpsHz/IMG_20210628_001344_107.jpg)

Body shaking with cold, legs unable to stand up anymore but when I prayed in my heart and finally I was able to see the first beauty from this height, a little more almost arrived at the top and I saw everyone sitting limply, how not from midnight and it was dawn we walked on a rocky sand incline, looked around and looked down almost nothing to see, I felt very far above.

A few more steps to reach the top and it seems almost not there hehehe, finally I passed a large rock, whoever has passed the rock then he arrived at the peak .. and it turns out I was able to reach the highest peak Mahameru at an altitude of 3676 masl , welcome happiness with my friends, some of whom have arrived first and I am the only woman who got to the top among my other friends, of the seven of us, only four of us made it to the top.

![IMG_20210628_230938_865.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmfBNAELCcKbC3MB8fSdpbchK8xafPBx3VzCyb7dTbFppD/IMG_20210628_230938_865.jpg)

![IMG_20210628_231855_861.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTCVViuuQq2JzKWeD87B4baswzeKSew45LPoDgy9bZYCS/IMG_20210628_231855_861.jpg)

My tiredness paid off when I saw a small explosion that radiated from Mount Semeru, the ocean of clouds that stretched out, the tears of laughter of happiness that radiated from all the faces of the climbers, like a dream I was able to be at this height, looking around how beautiful Allah's creation is.

![IMG_20210628_230938_854.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTxnkAZkTF8BUseEk4ixLonT5izV8zykVNFrVfKFe1V2p/IMG_20210628_230938_854.jpg)

This is where the first time I got to Puncak, was greeted with a small pop where people immediately took their cell phones to capture this happy moment, as well as me and my friends..

"Greetings Jancok", yes, that's the familiar greeting we usually use, but only for our own circle huh..
When the four of us were at the top, I and my friends sat on the edge of the rocks while enjoying the water left over from our struggle to climb to the top, sharing the water and sharing the rest of the bread while enjoying the beauty of Mahameru,

After we finished capturing the moment at the top, we rushed down, the time was already at 09:00 WIB, we had to go down immediately because if it was still above during the day it would be very dangerous, the dust and the heat of the sun began to be felt. In contrast to climbing, if the climb takes approximately 6 hours to climb the sand and rock, then the descent only takes approximately 30 minutes, how not when the descent is like playing in a plosotan wkwkwkw,

when descending from high sand it will definitely be more it's easy, but we have to pay attention to the signs that have been marked so that they don't miss the direction, if we don't pay attention then the ravine is already waiting in front, I remember that during the initial briefing before climbing the committee always reminded me to pay attention to the signs so you don't enter the block Abyss Blank 75, I still remember those words very well to this day, because there were many climbers who fell There could not be found, it was terrible.

On the way down, I also had a chance to fall, my hand was scratched with a rock and my back hurt, my whole body felt like I was bathing in dust, my skin was burned, my nose was peeling off, and that was the struggle. Arriving at the tent I immediately lay down in front of the tent, while waiting for my other friends to go to the source of semen to clean the body, my friend and I went straight to the source of semen there was someone who defecated, some took water and I took a shower, actually in it's forbidden to take a shower, but I feel very hot in the end I decided to take a bath as much as possible by not using body soap, because soapy water can damage the environment

Arriving at the tent, the other climbers rushed to go back down to Ranu Kumbolo, while I decided to stay one more night in Kalimati with my trio of friends, because my circumstances didn't allow me to go down that day. My big toe was blistered and my calf felt cramped and I decided not to go down that day. A cold night with nice weather, we drank a cup of coffee while looking at the beauty of Mount Semeru, and again imagining the struggle to be felt at the Peak, it really felt like a dream.

The next day I woke up and immediately rushed over, the trio had already prepared breakfast, and didn't forget to say the last cup of morning coffee, I immediately rushed to tidy up my luggage, folded the tent and was ready to go down, the clock showed 09:00 WIB, on the way down, we were very different, we walked so fast, so without feeling and not resting at the previous post, we went straight to Ranukumbolo.

At Ranukumbolo we stopped to enjoy the cut fruit that was sold there, while singing and running downhill, it didn't feel like the trip was going down so fast, at 14:00 WIB, we arrived at Ranupani, the first post that became the basecamp of Mount Semeru, there we throw away the luggage that we take our respective ID cards, and don't forget to stop by to enjoy Ranupani's Rawoon,

Because of the fun of chatting and greeting each other and congratulating other climbers in arms while climbing to the top, I met a father, who that night I was near him and saw for myself he was at Mahameru Peak, but I was very surprised and saluted not one of the photos that he took, I had time to ask, "Sorry, sir, who was peaking together, right? why not take a photo??, he also replied that he had been to Mahameru Peak four times but he never captured the moment, because he was able to climbing and enjoying the ride is more than enough."

The time was showing at 16:00 pm, we all rushed to return to our respective homes, before going home I didn't forget to buy a t-shirt that said 'Semeru' and some Pins, yes that's how I always collect pins from the various mountains I climb. When I came home using only a trail bike, I felt very tired and had time to ride a small motorbike belonging to a local resident to the Main Street, because the journey from Malang to Ranupani was climbing the mountain and the descent was quite terrible, the small road made us very careful going through it.

It was getting dark, as usual Malang is always cold, especially in June, finally the time has shown at 10:00 pm, we arrived home, I stayed at my friend Buljo's house, one of my online game squad friends, who there was Buljo's mother and sister.

The next day we just gathered at Buljo's house and that night I had the chance to meet my friend who arrived from Palembang, we planned to continue our journey to the next mountain, namely Mount Raung which is located in Banyuwangi City, East Java, but because there was a sudden need that required me return to Aceh so I can't go with my friends to Mount Raung.

Time feels so short, and I have to go back to my hometown, so beautiful memories in the city of Malang, it feels like a short dream, being in this city meeting new friends, getting a new family and being at an altitude of 3676 Mpdl, the highest peak of Java Island . The trio took me to the station. I felt sad that I couldn't contain it, the only thing I could say was thank you, "Thank you for accompanying me to enjoy the beauty of Mahameru".

![IMG_20210628_072836.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTjhTYyuTNqQu3QtWE2u4C2GidmXqWwpWRqQSsCRqn272/IMG_20210628_072836.jpg)

That's my short trip to the summit of Semeru 3676 masl, thank you my friends from various cities, thank you MLG squad in Bululawang Malang, thank you for the dinner, you guys are amazing...
thank you for steemian friends who stopped by to read a piece of my story, for those of you who want to climb, prepare your physique, okay?

Healthy greetings always and don't forget to take your garbage down

Thanks..
