We went to the tide pools! I was so excited to see them and had no idea what to expect.
The tide was really low and everything was exposed. It was kind of hard to walk because I didn't want to step on anything alive, And possibly hurt something.
There were shells, Tons of little crabs. And other things that I wasn't sure what they were.


We were then standing there watching the tide gradually come up, And cover some of the impressive sand formations. And we saw something a bit weird tumble to the shore. It looked like a piece of burned wood.
It was black and fairly large.

It sat on the shore, And it started looking less like a piece of wood. So I decided to "poke" it. Thats when I was horrified. And yelled to my boyfriend "it's alive!"
It felt gooey and fish like.
It wasn't moving at all at first, But then it slowly started moving and taking form. It was a bizarre creature.
That's when my boyfriend said that lt looked like a slug! A HUGE SLUG!
I started to feel a bit bad because it was sitting in the sand and I was worried it would dry out and die.
So I gently started scooping up handfuls of water to pour on the slug.
I didn't know if it was harmful or poisonous. So I avoided touching it the best I could. That's when a wave came up, and the slug got tangled in some kelp.

Lucky a local came up to me and asked me if I found something, And I told him about the slug. that's when he told me it was harmless, And sometimes he "rescues" them because they get stuck on the shore.
That's when I gently untangled it from the weeds and such. I was a little scared to touch it still. Because it's a slug! Slugs are scary! Right?

But then I quickly started realizing that the poor slug may die, And as much as I love the ocean, I shouldn't just let something die because it's "Scary". So after working up to it. I picked him up and took him back into the ocean, I also kept an eye out for it, To ensure that the slug didn't get pulled back to shore.

The rest of the beach was gorgeous there was so much to look at! It makes me wish I could see this stuff in Utah. but we don't have the ocean.
