A normal human emotion, An emotion that can cause us to make very irrational choices. Or just screw up our relationships with others altogether. Jealously doesn't have to be a bad emotion, if you use it to grow. And you DON'T use it to hurt others. Sometimes I feel a little "Jealous" or "envious" when I see others with something I'd like to have myself. I then become more motivated to get that thing for myself.
But the jealously I'm talking about is more the ugly side of jealousy. 

# Jealousy Comes From Fear #
We often become jealous of someone else, Not necessarily because we want that thing, But instead, we are just fearful, 
Fearful of that person doing better than us, Maybe we are scared we will look foolish for our choices.
There are many reasons that jealously and fear come hand in hand.
But the problem with these reasons is often; It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the US. Our personal life will not and won't change as a result of what someone else got. So our fear and intimidation towards that person seem very silly. 
Maybe it's something you saw on Facebook; you are feeling jealous because of what someone else got, At this point, you just need to let it go, And move on. Maybe avoid looking at those things. 
It's been shown that some social media decreases happiness, Because of the facade everyone puts online. Everyone's life seems so perfect, and it makes ours look so imperfect.

# It Doesn't Affect You #
Like above, I mentioned that it doesn't affect you, If someone you went to school with, that you don't talk to anymore. Gets a job promotion, How does that change YOUR life?
It doesn't. 
Unless it's the field that you are going into, And it gives you a burst of motivation to get your goal. This type of jealousy can slow you down in life. 

# You Can Have The SAME Thing #
Most of us look at people above us in awe. We worship these people, When often. If we were to break down EXACTLY what they did to get where they are at, We might realize we can go down a slightly different pathway to get the same thing. 
Back when I was 19 struggling to pay my hospital debt. I was working at a hotel.
I remember that while I was cleaning the breakfast area, That a man came on the T.V. His name was Clark Howard; He was saying that he retired by the age of 35!

I remember at first, Feeling kind of sorry for myself. Thinking that "Wow, Because of this debt I now have, I'll never be able to retire, I'll work at this horrible hotel job the rest of my life!"
But every day, The TV was on the same channel. And Clark Howard, Would come on every day and talk about finances, and creative ways to be frugal with your money. Every day I felt a little bit more inspired and motivated to make my life better.
Now at the age of 24, I feel like If I keep working like this, Retiring at that age, Maybe an option. But I love being self-employed so much. I may not even want to!

When you realize that you can have the same thing, As someone you admire. It's an impowering feeling. Next time you are feeling crappy about your life situation, And jealous of someone else. Try to break down what the other person did in steps. And see if their hard work and dedication to what they wanted to get, Is worth it to you.

Rarely are things just "handed" to us. And sometimes we may feel jealous of someone else. Simply because we aren't whilling to put forth the work necessary to get what we want.
