### *Hello Dear Steemians,* 

Today, I am gonna talk about one of the biggest economic problem which is inflation in Turkey. Since I am alive, I know that  there is always inflation which have a bad influence on Turkey's economy.  Why does the cost of bread or milk keeps going up year after year in Turkey ? So, I am gonna try to explain what causes inflation to Turkey's economy and try to give my opinion.

### *Inflation* 
Inflation is  increases the general level of goods and services prices caused by the devaluation of currency and therefore reduces the purchasing power. If prices increase once in a society and then become static, then it sould not called as "inflation" because Inflation is not a momentary change. It is a concept that expresses a certain process.

There are many factors that determine the rate of inflation in Turkey such as energy prices, volatility in the exchange rate and food prices directly determine the inflation rate.

We are struggling with inflation in years in Turkey. As you see the graphic above which shows inflation rate in 2017 in Turkey and It's always increasing the rate of inflation.

### *What Causes Inflation?* 

There are two main causes of inflation: 

### *Cost- Push Inflation:* 

Cost- push inflation occurs when there are sustained or continuous increases in any of coasts of production such as land, labor, capital and entrepreneurship. These are factors affect supply.

 ### *Demand- Pull Inflation:* 
Demand pull inflation occurs when aggregate demand and output is growing at an unsustainable rate leading to increased pressure on scarce resources and a positive output gap.

High inflation can create an environment uncertainty.

### *Impact on savers*

Lower real interest rate means lower returns on savings.

### *Solutions to inflation:*

- Increase in taxes which reduces the amount ,people can spend and which in turn reduces inflation.

- Reducing the subsidies and welfare payments.

- By increasing the export of goods and decreasing the import of essential items.
