How To Fix The Trending Page, Maybe, If There's Not Something I'm Missing, And Also Adopt Steemier Page Names

A lot of people complain about the Trending page because it contains a lot of crap that is only there because of paid bot upvotes. I don't think most people mind if you paid for a bot upvote if you produce good stuff, but some posts definitely shouldn't be there.

Since all of the accounts of paid upvote bots are public knowledge, it shouldn't be too difficult to just make a list of those accounts and exclude any post that has used them from the Trending page. And maybe move those posts to the Promoted page. Or create another page called Naturally Trending or Organically Trending or Actually Trending or something where people can find all the posts that haven't been paid for.

Of course, somebody will make a new bot that isn't on the list. And of course it then gets added to the list. And of course somebody comes up with another bot scheme that circumvents the system. And then that gets dealt with as well.

While we're at it, let's change the names of the pages as well, to something more in line with the Steem theme, like Cool instead of New, Hot can stay Hot, Boiling is Trending with paid bot upvotes plus Promoted posts, and Steeming is Trending without any promotion.

As someone who helps manage the Israeli community and as someone who brought people to Steemit, I can definitely say that it bothers a lot of people, especially newcomers, that don't understand what actually going on and don't understand why certain content is on the trending page.

All the flag drama is ridiculous and just hurts the reputation of Steemit.
It's been a while since I saw content on the trending page that actually deserves to be on the trending page.
I miss @yarapapi posts. they were high quality and one of the best piece of content I have ever read on Steemit.

There is a lot of great content, don't get me wrong, but the Trending page is embarrassing.
I want to visit the trending page and actually read some high-quality content or witnesses goals. not some drama, and so do newcomers. well this is the same thing i posted about today

Another problem I have: I cannot see the posts I want to see on my feed! Often I have to go to the exact accounts to find out their new posts!

Actually, that's not what I was saying. I understand what you mean though. 

I think if someone produces high quality content, and uses a bot to promote it, it's basically the same as advertising on Google or Facebook. They take a risk to get their post seen, and they hopefully make more money than they spend on advertising.

The problem I see is with people using bots to promote low quality posts. Some of them end up on the trending page and make it look bad.

Steemit, Inc. isn't trying to fix this problem directly because after SMTs come out there will eventually be thousands of businesses experimenting with different ways of doing things. Some of those new ways will be used on Steemit if they prove to be successful.

excuse me.  I misunderstood you. I know there are lots of businesses taking advantage of steemit.  I thought it might be better to ask a private business to promote my blog , I sent small amount of money (steemit) to them, However , even though  they say "we are resteeming your blog" ,  I couldn't get a good result. Now, I think that the most important thing is studying and analyzing in various ways so that I can promote my posts effectively. and more important thing is to write a good information for people.
