I think we should add a more severe punishment for plagiarism and spam.
perhaps a cheetah rank showing by the upvote button that's effecting the reward pool.
making the stolen content less and less rewarding can reduce plagiarism and encourage original content.
when a negative cheetah rank effect all of a users post they will do anything to correct their wrong and fix their reputation.

I think that's a nice idea. I would put some sort of expiration date on the rank though, like only count the posts from the last month or two. That way, people who slipped up in the beginning won't be followed by their previous mistakes. Some actually don't know any better until you tell them.

This is also why I feel it's important that new members get informed better. If you look at our FAQ, there is actually a small bit about plagiarism, but it's quite far down. I would love for some of our minnow-targetting bots to include useful information like this in their comments, instead of just the useless *"You received a vote from *botnumber4215*, because this bot is just awesome! Please check us out and give us all your money!"*

or it can be permanent and deleting/editing the faulty post be the way to get rid of them. if it's too late for that they can appeal for a removal.
I might be too harsh though, it's because I believe in amendments not apologies.

I would definitely support that idea, but I haven't heard of any Steemit post to have been deleted yet. I'm not sure if that ever happens, which makes it a bit of a difficult subject I guess. I wonder who they would appeal to, since Steemit is decentalized and kind of run by the people. Sure, the big whale accounts have most power, but I don't think even they can remove a post.
