Eccl. 7:2-4 "It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. 3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. 4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth."
Few days ago, I was in a funeral. Someone passed away, so I was in the funeral, and while I was in that funeral I began to reason within myself about allot of things.
First, I began to question myself about what the essence of life is… is the essence of life just to live, make money and die? No. there is more to life than that but when you look into the world today that is what almost everyone has made to be the essence of life.
They wake up, eat, go to work, make money, come back home and sleep—this is how 98% of the people living on earth today live. Is that what life should be? Is that the reason God created you and I? You know, death is a part of life, the sad truth is that someday you will die--- how you lived and what you did with your life is what matters after death.
The Bible says that we shall all give account before God on how we lived. Knowing this, what kind of life should one live? Nothing more but a life that is pleasing to God.
The right time to live a life that is pleasing to God is now, while you are still alive. You cannot serve God after death. What you do with your life counts. How you live your life today determines your eternal destination.
The first step to living a life that is pleasing to God is repentance and making Jesus your Lord and Saviour. This decision involves making Jesus your priority, it involves living for Jesus every moment of your life, it involves doing those things that are pleasing to God. Jesus said, if any man must come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me daily. That is what pleasing God is all about.
And you will never regret doing that, because Jesus said ; there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and ofor the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold pnow in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, qwith persecutions, and in rthe age to come eternal life.
I invite you today, to make Jesus your priority in life.

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and unless you save me I am lost forever. I thank you for dying for me at Calvary. I come to you now, Lord the best way I know how, and ask you to save me. I now receive you as my saviour. In Jesus Christ name. Amen
