Temptations will always come into our lives and it is the will power to fight and overcome it that counts at the end of the day. Temptation means "a desire to do something wrong or unwise".

Remember that, the temptation that comes into your life is no different from what others experience, the only difference is the ability to survive and ultimately come out a winner is what counts.

Today I have to look at the aspects of winning against those battles that seem like thy are designed to kill me. 
As much as I try, I am yet unable to fully see why there is a need for temptations even is there is an explanation, I still feel I will be better without it. Temptations are trials that are designed to test your faith and resolve. Many have not been able to defeat the temptations that comes their way.

How do you defeat Temptations?

**Focus your attention on something else:**- You must have noticed that you cannot resist temptation no matter how hard you try. Even the Bible never talked about resisting Temptation, but it did talk about resisting the devil. 
That urge is what you should resist and not the tempting itself. Focusing your mind on some other stuff that can help you stand against that tempting one in front of you helps a whole lot.

Some people can react to what is happening around them and do likewise, for instance, *someone may cough and you as an individual standing close by my feel the urge to clear your throat.* Or *some may watch a food advertisement and suddenly feel the need to eat.*
These scenarios have nothing to do with you, but they just stood as your tempting case and to overcome that temptation, you must Focus your attention on something else.

**Reveal your struggle.**- Defeating temptation is no easy peasy, that is why  you must do well to confide in someone you can trust to help. You are aware you have a problem and getting over such sometimes needs you to admit to someone other than yourself that you have a problem and seek help.

You can join a support group and get help by sharing that why, you will have a fight against those forces that tempts.

**Realize your vulnerability.**- You have to realize that you are vulnerable. There is no need or gain in getting cocky or overconfident. Many have proved that they are okay and can do without the help of others and that confidence has actually led to their downfall as they constantly deceived themselves.

Do not fool yourself even if you are very good at doing so. With the right circumstances, everyone of us is capable of sin and that means we are not beyond temptation. Avoid placing yourself in tempting situations. 
It is common sense that a recovering alcoholic should not be found around alcohol or in the company of alcoholic who still ply the trade.
Stay away for those stuffs that tempts.

**Resist the devil.**- This is the most important aspect I guess, if you can resist the devil, you can resist whatever is thrown at you. Stay connecting with the word of God and that way you will be free fro attacks that are designed to destroy you. 2 Timothy 2:22.

Life is hard as it is easy and getting around temptation is not easy, but learning to stay away and making the best of your time in every situation is what counts.
