Ned showed up on TV today. More precisely on Bloomberg in Asia.

# We need to be better at explaining it

We can see in this interview that the TV lady has a hard time grabbing the idea of steem and Ned at the same time finding it hard to put it all into simple words.

We need to get better at explaining it all.

I felt the comparisons he made not super helpful and at the same time he did not use some of the comparisons that I thought would have been helpful.

Example: Comparing the speculative nature of steem with that of bitcoin, is not wrong but not really helpful. I would have compared the distribution or creation of money with that of bitcoin and explained that not only the miners get the coins but everyone that writes content and receives upvotes. Especially when explaining the business model.

Yeah steemit/steem is very complex thing to exchain ..normal person can't understand it through words..it take 1 month for me to full understand steemit...and there is not enough source available on internet on topic How to use steemit...but i like what ned is doing atleast after 2 years he start promoting steem..

srsly that ppl dont get the potential of blockchain and Investors cant enter the market right now (because there are no financial tools avaiable) creates a hughe oportunity window for smal bets with hughe potential upside

I gave an "elevator pitch" to 2 people at my show this weekend and both are going to be signing up and both intend to invest to get their accounts started. 

They make part of their income from YouTube and Facebook Groups and said both are getting really bad about burying the smaller guys and making it very hard to make money. 

They also have networks of smaller to midsize bloggers, podcast people, video blogger, and live streaming guys that are all trying to figure out a way to get more exposure and get back to earning the income they were earning last year. That could be a good thing for steemit as a whole as these are real content producers not scammers and spammers.

The pitch isn't hard IMO. In case people don't understand the concept and elevator pitch is 20 seconds or less attempt to peak someone's interest in hearing more.

Think that most try to say way to much at first verse just trying to peak interest which is the goal. From there the details can be dealt with later.

You are spurring a post idea for me, going to work on it tonight. Been in sales most my adult life so have gotten pretty good at elevator pitches. Also did some MLM crap which is about as hardcore sales as you get. It was an amazing way to learn how to sell and get over fears of rejection...and get a few family members to not call you anymore....lol.

He showed up on Bloomberg Asia, that is a great milestone for sure! I'm not sure he represents Steem well tho. We need someone like Charlie Lee going on CNBC fast money to talk about Steem! Yes, I agree with you that he should of said that content creators (just like FB or Reddit) get rewarded in tokens or currency that can be converted to USD dollars (generally a simple way to explain it to my friends).
