<p>I’m writing this as a quick check in. It’s a freewrite, so don’t expect a lot of structure, and for those of you clamoring for pinups in lingerie, sorry to disappoint. That won’t be happening tonight. I mentioned last week that my mom, @bonni and my stepdad would be visiting for a week. They’re here, and I’m trying to be present. That was one of my goals for 2020. Taking more time to be with the ones I love. It’s a pathological reality that I overbook myself, and friends and family tend to have to wait in line for me to complete the dozen or so projects I’ve committed myself to.</p>

<p>The time with my parents here has been great! The last two years, only my mom has been able to come to Minneapolis. My stepdad is getting old, having a hard time traveling. The visits have been short, about four days or so. This time, they both braved the Minnesota winter […@bonni absolutely loves the cold] and they’re here for a week. We’ve been taking them to all the best places to eat. My mom got me in to Star Trek: The Next Generation when I was a kid. I have this sweet projector now, and we’ve all been watching Picard. It’s been one of my favorite parts of the trip.</p>
<p>Hal, my stepdad, has a sweet tooth that I’ve only seen comparable to that of @tarotbyfergus. We’ve spent a few hours at @caffetto, I my teeth physically hurt watching him eat cake and drink a giant mocha with whipped cream. It’s a cruel joke that two years ago, my mom, who just turned 60, was diagnosed with diabetes, but my stepdad is a human disposal system for desserts, cakes, cookies and soda. He’s in his 70’s! WTF?! @bonni is newly vegetarian and we’ve been experimenting with new recipes. We pulled off a batch of delicious butter bean veggie burgers!</p>

<p>One stop we made as a family was Hunt &amp; Gather. It’s a two story building with the most random vintage furniture, keep sakes and oddities. Around 20 vendors have space, travel the country collecting items from estate sales, and selling them in a massive collection of weirdness. @tarotbyfergus is looking to launch a video project similar to that of @axiomproject we started last winter, and I found the creepiest baby doll. @guthrie looked at it and said “That thing is possessed!”, so of course, I bought it. @tarotbyfergus’ first reading with it was great.</p>
<p>So, I still don’t feel like I have much to say on the TRON news. I will say this. Fuck @ned. I’m happy to see him go, and for all the FUD about what Sun’s plans are for Steemit, he brings a lot more to the table than an absentee CEO that careened the entire platform in to a nose dive; a platform that thousands invested their lives in to, leaving the rest of the Steemit team to save. They did, because they’re incredible, and turned things around just in time to make @ned richer. Good riddance. Enjoy the money you earned on the backs of those you betrayed.</p>
<p>The day the Steemit/TRON announcement was made, Voice launched. I’ve been checking it out, and I have a lot of complicated feelings. There was just so much disruption to my personal stasis, I’m trying trying to collect my thoughts. Much of the interface on Voice, and many of the early adopters, are old Steemit friends that’ve left the platform. It kind of makes me sad. I’m also considering how I go about participating in both, sorting my feelings of loyalty, and tribalism, even though that’s an aspect of blockchain I really hate. Complicate that even more with TRON, it’s just a confusing time for me. Maybe another reason why I had to step back and be here with my family the last week or so.</p>
<p>That’s that. Alright. Tomorrow, I should be able to get some overdue editing done, and a photography post. @bonni and grandpa are going back to Pennsylvania Thursday, so things should start to get back on track for my regularly scheduled Steemit posts. I have a lot to finish in the next week or so before leaving for Texas. @ghostfish and I are behind on @coppercoins printing and production, and that’s an absolute must before I go. Thanks to all of you for clarifying the narrative and doing your part to keep the faith. I’ve been getting most of my Steemit/TRON updates via Twitter and I love the positivity.</p>

It's been a lot of fun, @ramengirl. Today we stopped to see the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. I've driven past it for the last ten years and never taken the time to walk around. My mom wanted to see it, so we did. It was great.

I had to google it to figure it out how Minneapolis Sculpture Garden looks like :) It looks great! I love walking around in the nature just such as park, garden, mountain... that's what I miss the most while living in a hot country haha I'm glad you're having a good time! :D

I can only say "Perfect" for your togetherness with your family.

A healthy relationship is a blessing, be it a relationship with a partner, a relationship with children, relationships with family, relationships with parents or even in-laws.

On the other hand I am also disappointed at what is happening at Steemit today.

I’m not sure how anyone can handle all the sugar in a mocha with whipped cream, let alone have a piece of cake alongside it. That is some sweet tooth!

Your line about over scheduling yourself and making your family wait really resonated with me. I’ve battled with myself over that one all my life. I too have to consciously set things aside and prioritize connection with people, as the last thing I want is for them to feel they are less important.

I need to get on Twitter more to keep up with the TRON news. It’s going to be interesting! What is Voice? Not that I’m going to explore another social blockchain. I’m not able to keep up with this one. But I know what you mean about loyalties. Steem has been a rocky road — amazing and rewarding and also rife with challenges. It is not easy to be ever faithful. I am hoping TRON gives us the lifeblood Ned never could.

Seriously, @jayna. It stresses me out watching him eat so much junk food, but apparently, his body knows what it can handle. This is definitely a year for me to dig in on my most meaningful connections. I got a call from my friend @thomaskuntzart last night and we chatted for an hour about nothing in particular. It was great.

Well, Hal got the job done anyway! lol

I'm in rare form tonight. Nothing like drinking wine and visiting my favorite bloggers pages. 

Tron, Voice, Steemit....things have gotten crazy! But one thing I feel good about is steem coming off of it's 13 cent lows. As a traditional investor for over 15 years. Looks like steem is finally going to trend higher; and this new ownership is the fresh legs it needs to advance forward and grow. I'm all for it. Seems like you are too.
