Most people are conditioned into the security bubble, without ever leaving it, or ever _having_ to leave it.

They are nature's victims. (or should I say victims of their own making?)

If you have never lived life 'on the edge',  it's an abstract concept , something to be viewed on TV.

I feel sorry for those that never have to be honest.
You have never lived until close to death an' all that...
(going parachuting doesn't even come close, for those that fool them selves they are 'on the edge'. ...I mean real life.)

I have had enough 'living on the edge' to last me a lifetime,  but when/if the shit hits the fan, it won't be a life threatening biggie...Just a change.

Most people unfortunately, will become  headless chickens...the price of decadence.

The real answer is no one is truly prepared. There are numerous particular variables that could have an effect, hell even in the moment, there is no telling where our mental stability would even be. The best thing for people to do right now is build up their physical assets, of course, of valuable things.  Fallout from nuclear disaster however makes things rather difficult, and the idea of mass global natural disasters... It's too much to ponder on escape plans, and standing your ground bunkers. It's interesting, but build up what you have and live in the now. :)

I was starting to prepare as a survivalist with supplies, precious metals, medical supplies, food, amo etc. Then Trump got in and the last year I got lax.   I feel safer with him than the alternative.   But now we had the house fire which has set me back.   I still believe in preparing and will continue to do so.   Thanks for the good article. This is where precious metals has a use case. Even our beloved crypto may fail us during such an occurrence so we need to be able to barter with physical assets in order to transact.

Many of us can see that time (and the jig) is almost up!

This next financial & currency crisis/meltdown will be 100x more devastating than the 2007-08 one, as countless more will lose their jobs and credit markets will freeze up (emptying store shelves); as Bill Holter always says: ***Everything* runs on credit!** Thus, the food shortages - especially in the big cities - will get depleted within about a week and things will start to get ugly at that point.

I think that TPTB will purposely leave the US dollar tank as well (they will conveniently and easily use their MSM lapdogs to pin this suffering on Trump) and will wait several months until the masses beg for a new replacement - probably some kind of *slavecoin* which is all digital and centralized (to further consolidate power and control over their sheeple tax slaves).

As an alternative (or with the new USD slavecoin) it wouldn't surprise me if they also introduced UBI (Universal Basic Income) as a means to further QE/Money print (i.e., inflate away) to push the can down the road for a few more years.

I am still flabbergasted that, most likely, **over 85-90% of the population are unaware and unprepared of what should be plain to see coming.**

The **GIANT ELEPHANT in the ROOM** should be obvious for all to see, but unfortunately, most are zombified individuals with their eyeballs glued to their dumbphones.

Stories abound that when everything is out because of the hurricane that just blew through, that there are people who are driving from gas station to gas station trying to find gas so they can go to work.

I wish i was more prepared, but today, with all the shit that is coming towards the fan, the only way to be is like @papa-pepper.

I think about this very often and I do feel that my survival instinct / animalistic mindset would thrive in a disastrous situation... I say this, however I do not have anything prepared. 

Ideally, a bunker would be great, but how long could that last..? It depends on the disaster I guess... I like to think I would be fine but when it really happens who knows what it would be like. Probably nothing like we imagine. Nature is a strong force that we cannot match! But we can try to prepare our minds for any situation, and always try our best. Big fires/floods/natural disasters would be almost impossible to avoid or come out ontop. I wonder if a government style takeover would be easier for us to survive in, I would like to think so... but the technology they possess would be hard to overcome. But togther we could do it! Lots of thoughts right here haha...

Totally agree with you here. Change can come in an instant without giving any of us a chance to prepare for it.

@krnel, The most important thing is, every aspect of this world is **Perishable** so why we need to live in **Illusion**.

Disasters can come at anytime and we have to ready for it because that the **Behaviour** of nature and there is no one who is superior than nature.

And we have to understand the nature and we have to stay close to nature's aspect because every **Materialistic** stuff will vanish one day.

But still people don't understand this simple concept until they hit with particular **Disaster**, so wake up now because so much **Illusion** is not good. 🙂

You have hit the nail on the head. I watch all those movies that depict hurricanes, floods and earth quakes and I ask myself  what would I do if  something happened in my country. It gives me the chills.

Wow what a wake up call. @Krnel, in reality, no one is even 100% prepared for extreme natural disaster...in fact , mother nature gives and takes when she wants..the best thing, we have to do is to live life with positive attitude and plurality....fingers crossed for a less disaster world. This world is mortal. It won't last for ever. The end is inevitable. However, we cannot afford to die before our death. We have to live and survive. Afterall one who wants to live and shows craze, survives and takes the world ahead. 
Fiats currencies will eventually end one day and a new era of cryptocurrencies will come. But will cryptocurrencies prove itself as a true substitute of traditional monitory system? What will happen if governments issue its own cryptos and people accept them happily? Will cryptocurrencies free us from the clutches of banks and financial slavery or will they prove worse than them? There are so many questions and as we don't have the exact reply, it is hard to say anything. I am not so sure but I will do everything which may help me to survive.

I hate to say that I am ill prepared, in both supplies and knowledge. I have excuses for the former as I am so far in debt that the treadmill on the fiat debt cycle consumes my financial abilities at this point. The latter is solely my fault and falls under the category of normalcy bias as you mention. I have taken it upon myself to watch some videos on things like making your own axe from natural items like branches and rocks. However when it comes to plant identification my skills are lacking, as well as my hunting skills as I do not find killing "animals" to be very appealing, despite coming from a family of hunters. I have tried to combat this weakness while here on steemit, following a few permaculture blogs but I do not spend the time learning from them that I should. 

A timely post to give me a kick in the pants to quit behaving like an immortal who always has a fresh tomorrow before the shtf.

I was reminded of the tsunami that hit us (aceh) in 2004 ago, when the sea water receded, they thought it was a harmless natural phenomenon, they even caught fish lying on the beach, did not know sea water hit them.

I may lose some things when the dollar debacle arrives, but I will be much better than most of the population. I am stacking silver and a little gold. These hold value in case of a catastrophe.

Great post albeit a bit depressing. Dystopia is a scary prospect and if things remain on the same course it will eventually become a reality for human civilization and all creatures on earth.

The water here actually goes out pretty frequently, best to prepare for the things that typically happen in your area. I keep several gallons on hand but with that unit and an extra filter that is enough water to last for a long time. 
I am working on getting a boat for bug out and recreational purposes, in case this place shits the bed.
