<hr /> # <center> This has been me for the past 2 days.</center> <hr/> http://i.imgur.com/2baoWxE.jpg Well, I *did* start making my friend handmade birthday present yesterday but mostly for the past 2 days I could do nothing but binge netflix, drink tea, and "veg out". While part of my brain was freaking out at the lack of productivity the other part of my brain remembered that I just went to the hospital for a week because I tried to end my life. So, maybe a few days in bed isn't the worst thing in the world? Perhaps, my body and mind really need this time off to rest? Even if you didn't get so upset that you tried to end your life you are probably constantly working, exhausted, and stressed. So maybe instead of hating ourselves on those days when it is all we can do to perform basic chores and shower we should embrace those days. Enjoy them fully. Congratulate ourselves for utilizing such awesome self care! That is the mindset I took the past few days. I usually can't afford even a few full weekdays off but I could this time, so I took them. You can make these days productive by really pampering yourself and your mind. Meditate. Relax. Journal. Work through some mental road blocks. Maybe just *plan* ideas for future work. Get organized. I cleaned my entire room *really* well while I was taking a few days off. So, you can come back to work with a clean, organized workspace *And* a decluttered mind. Don't think of this time off as useless because it can be incredibly needed and make you more productive when you get back into the swing. <hr /> ## <center>Eventually though, we want to get back at it.</center> <hr /> <br> http://i.imgur.com/THr8SRs.jpg If you work at home though you eventually have to instill some self discipline or a few lazy days can easily turn into a few lazy weeks. Especially if you are tuned into a really awesome show or playing a great video game. So today even though I woke up hella late and feel groggy and want to climb back into bed I decided to wake up and blog about the only thing I can at this very moment...my lack of motivation. I also am going to do some mturking and finish my friend's present. I find that when I jump back into work I like to take it slowly. So today will be like dipping my toes into the pool of productivity. Could this all really be because I cut coffee out a few weeks ago? Boy did I use coffee to stay awake during long work days. Well, I still am feeling pretty uninspired so I just ask that you try to be gentle with yourself when you crash from being overworked. Remember, over working can lead to an early grave. It's great to be motivated but if you have been going so hard that your mind and body both crash just take a few days to really relax. Take baths. Light candles. Listen to your favorite relaxing music. Take extra naps. Binge shows. Eat all the salads. Play with your cats. Whatever. Great article @lauralemons. BC(before children) I used to have days when I couldn't motivate myself to do anything "productive" but actually the mind needs to rest, sleep, daydream 💭. I did read that in an experiment, some tarantulas were given all sorts of addictive drugs and survived them all except caffeine! So perhaps a slow withdrawal rather than going cold turkey would help 🙂

Unfortunately I stopped due to a bladder disease that makes it HORRIBLY painful to consume so I won't be slowly quitting. ( ._.) That's a very interesting study. :O Although in those studies we must take into account that human biology and tarantula biology are entirely different. :)

Yes, rest. When I get really tired I have to lie down and rest a bit. Cold showers shock my system. I have been doing that since I read that in a kaylinart blog. Plus it is so hot here in California and it's a good way to wake up.
