Jobs at risk of being taken over by robots in the near future

With the current rate at which technology is advancing, it is only a matter of time before robots or special computer computer programmes will take over jobs from humans. We have seen movies where robots have tried to take over the world from humans, and if we are not careful AI will not only take over jobs, but they will also take over the world.

Some companies have already started automating some of their process. For example assembly lines in factories can now be fully automated without any human interventions.

Robots if programmed properly can carry out jobs in a fast and efficient manner. They don't sleep, eat or get tired. They can work both night and day, and most importantly they don't require a salary. If you consider these factors you can see why most companies will definitely be switching to automation in a matter of time

According to company.com the text below best sums why the future does not look so bright for professionals in certain sectors:

>Automation, which includes both mechanized robots (whether humanoid or drone-shaped) and artificially intelligent software programs, are predicted to eliminate 6% of the jobs in the U.S. in the next five years. And it’s not just low-wage employees that need to be worried. Highly skilled, knowledge-based employees in some sectors, including legal and accounting, could see their jobs decimated in the next decade. Deloitte estimates that 39% of jobs in the legal sector could be automated in the next 10 years. Separate research has concluded that accountants have a 95% chance of losing their jobs to automation in the future.

In this article I will be looking at jobs that would be taken over by robots in the near future

## 1. Bus driver

In the near future bus drivers could loose their jobs to automated buses. This technology is already in full swing in places like Finland. General acceptance of this technological innovation has been quite good and it is only a matter of time that this technology spreads to other parts of the world.

## 2. Accountant
people and businesses are switching to automated accounting programmes to save costs, and this will leave many accountants out of a job in the near future. An American startup company has developed an accounting software known as [smacc](https://www.smacc.io/en/) that uses AI and machine learning to automate accounting processes.

## 3. Bank Tellers

In the past banks had an army of cashiers to deal with their long line of customers, but all that changed with the advent of ATMs. ATMs can work for 24 hours and some can even accept cash deposits. This technology has reduced the banking workforce, and more areas in the banking sector will become automated leading to loss of more jobs.

## 3. Construction workers

Construction is a labour intensive task that sometimes requires a lot of manual labour. Robotic construction workers will soon replace humans at construction sites. A Semi Automated Mason (SAM) can lay upto 1200 bricks a day, unlike humans that lay just 300 blocks per day.

## 5. Taxi drivers

When self driving taxis roll out, a lot taxi drivers will soon be out of jobs. CEO of ride sharing app Uber says that, self driving cars will help increase their profits, as they won't have to share profits with other drivers.

## 6. Manufacturing workers

China for instance, that has the majority of worlds manufacturing jobs, is also switching to automation. In the near future all of it's manufacturing plants will become automated leading to loss of manufacturing jobs.

## 7. Telemarketing

This sector is likely to witness the greatest loses in jobs. These days it hard to get a spam call from a real person as most telemarketing calls are prerecorded.
