######   We continue our walk along the Suvorov alley of the Park. This is the _Watchtower_ of the Odessa Quarantine.
#### Walking along the Suvorov avenue, after a few (~ 400) meters or 5 minutes walk from the [Powder Tower](https://steemit.com/travel/@leylar/odessa-history-past-and-present-quarantine-wall-and-powder-tower), we will see the site of the Watchtower, which was opened on August 4, 2014 after reconstruction.
#### The quarantine complex was destroyed for a long time, everything was covered with grass and trees, and there were legends ... And now, in some sources one can find a reference to the _Dead Tower_, where the Quarantine morgue was allegedly.



       Below there was the quarantine harbor, where the ships with the sick were put. The quarantine was located near the earth fortress (Odessa), abolished in 1811



#### However, recent studies by Odessa local historians say that the morgue was lower in the port area.

#### The watchtower was auxiliary, not functionally used. It looked like a fortress, but not in military operations. There is also information that it was an arcade similar to the one that was preserved, but it was dismantled in the second half of the XIX century, and nothing left of it.
