My Actifit Report Card: June 28 2020

My son and I played a couple rounds of disc golf at a difficult course in a wooded area.  It has a nice mix of trees and distance throws.  We were both struggling a bit on course but I had a great time.

On the second throw of the first round I threw my brand new _Longbowman_ disc and we looked and looked for it.  We both thought it went short of a tree near the basket but it actually went longer than we thought and skipped up under a log.

Can you spot the disc?  This took the two of us around 45 minutes to find:

There was an island on the third hole and it gave both of us trouble on the second round.  I played it as a six and my son took a nine on it.  He was not too happy about the out of bounds penalties from missing the short putts from the drop zone.

One really odd thing happened on one of the holes though.  It was a blind throw to the basket that you had to fade around some trees to make.  There was an older lady and a little chair in the middle of the fairway near where you needed to make the disc fade around the corner.

I wasn't sure if I should go and look around the corner but the older woman waved at us like it was alright to throw.  I figured she was far enough away and looking right at us so it would be fine.

I threw the disc and it faded out out of sight around the corner.  As we were walking up we saw to younger woman with infant babies right near the basket around the corner.  The older woman had wandered off and was nowhere to be seen.

I told the woman with the babies that I would never have thrown the disc if I knew they were there but they were totally out of sight from the tee.

I'm not sure why they thought the fairway next to a basket on a disc golf course was a good place to rest with a couple of babies but they did move on after the encounter.  I'm really not sure why the older woman didn't tell us or the younger woman what was happening.

I'm sure glad that nobody was injured from a disc.  It did shake me up a bit for a few throws after that though.
