So much great music has come and keeps coming from The Treasure Isle.
The great Bob Marley hails from there, but also countless other wonderful artists, some of them we will discover in this series about Jamaican music.

Traditional Jamaican Ska came about in the early 1960s.
Originally a blend of traditional Caribbean sounds, like Mento and Calypso, and American R&B and Soul, it was made for dancing.
When Jamaica gained independence from Great Britain in 1962, Ska was the music to celebrate with.
