Thailand legalizes medical cannabis
The Thai parliament has decided to release cannabis for medical purposes. It was a "New Year's gift to the people," said one MP. Thailand has legalized medical cannabis. The country's parliament unanimously decided to release cannabis for medical use by adding an addictive substance law. Thailand is the first state in Asia to use cannabis for medicine and research. The amendment was a New Year's gift to the people, said Somchai Sawangkan. The law brings relief for people with chronic pain. The government must now regulate how the cultivation of the plant should be regulated. There are currently no plans for a complete release of marijuana. Trade and ownership of the plant have been severely punished so far.

More and more states worldwide legalize cannabis - either for medical or for private use. In Germany, health insurance companies have been paying the costs of medical cannabis since 2017, when patients can no longer be helped in any other way.

Cannabis is used to treat, among other things, nerve pain, cataracts, ADHD and Tourettes Syndrome. Cannabis extracts, cannabis flowers or cannabis-based medicines are used.

Several US states have legalized cannabis for medical and private use years ago. In June, Luxembourg passed a law legalizing cannabis as medicine. Now it should also be released for private consumption. South Africa and Canada have legalized the drug for private use this year. In New Zealand 2020 should be voted on the legalization. Mexico also wants to legalize cannabis to weaken drug cartels.

Good news. I will be in Thailand for three months likely within the next six months. Do you know how/if they are dispensing cannabis? Can it be gotten at the public Thai hospitals? Or are they simply granting a medical marijuana card to those who can prove legitimate need? I regularly get public hospital treatment (for anxiety meds) in Thailand, and receipts from past visits and prescriptions. Any more info you can provide? Thanks...

This is awesome! And pretty crazy, since as far as I know, they still hassle people about vaping. Perhaps this will slowly move towards less crazy drug laws.
