I have to work!

One of those days when you just wanna stay inside and work on your projects, but your friends just won't let you. I know, I'm probably an ass who doesn't deserve to have friends, but they have to understand that I just can't keep spending time on entertainment like I used to when I was a teenager.

I know, life is not just about work, and we only live once etc, but we can't ignore the fact that people age. I have to make sure that everything will be fine by the time I'm old and grey, and considering that my inheritance turned out to be a pile of debt, I have to work my ass off now that I am young. 

Most of my friends don't get this mindset of mine, and I'm often told that I have to take a step back and breathe. I need to stop thinking about the future. To them, the future is too far away and we can't control it, but I beg to differ. The present shapes the future, just like the past shapes the present.

Do you ever get so busy with your goals that you just can't afford to spend time with friends and loved ones? How do you deal with it? If you are one of my friends and I didn't make it to the pub, please show some understanding. I have to suffer now in order to enjoy later.

You and your friends are right. Money is important, health is important, leisure is important, being friends is important, breathing is important. I have full understanding, I also often  have no time for friends and relatives. But that you have to suffer now to be able to enjoy later, I think you are wrong. You should not suffer. If you get sick, you may not be able much to enjoy your life later.
