Mérida, un lugar que te enamora [Sé un viajero]

Mis seguidores venezolanos sabrán lo especial e importante que es este Estado para nosotros. El estado Mérida, por la hermosura de sus paisajes andinos y su agradable clima, es uno de los principales centros turísticos de Venezuela. Tiene un sin fin de lugares que llamaran tu atención y harán que cada año quieras volver. 

En esta ocasión viajé con mi familia, ya que en definitiva es nuestro lugar favorito en nuestro país Venezuela. Les mostraré el por qué y sé que les gustará mucho.

La primera vez que lo visité, era un niña de tan sólo 10 años, podrán imaginar lo fascinada que quedé con este lugar. Este observatorio consta de cuatro cúpulas, cada una con un telescopio; y un museo, así como residencias para los científicos. Es además, el mayor complejo de observación de Venezuela y el mayor entre los que operan cerca de la línea del Ecuador, por su localización, posee la ventaja de poder observar ambos hemisferios.

Sin duda es un lugar donde puedes pasar un día genial con tu familia o amigos. Siempre es el primer lugar al que quiero ir al llegar a Mérida. Espero que pasen los años y seguir visitándolo con tanto entusiasmo, y por qué no que un día mis hijos puedan conocerlo también. <b>Un dato curioso,</b> es que es el único observatorio profesional del país, y el más alto del mundo en la región ecuatorial. 

En esta fotografía que pude tomarles a mis padres, se observan claramente las cúpulas del observatorio al fondo, sin duda alguna un paisaje majestuoso.

Este Estado es el más montañoso del país, efectivamente, lo atraviesan tres sierras de la Cordillera de Los Andes, su fauna es extraordinaria, y puedes apreciarla en cualquier rincón a donde mires. 

>Destacan mamíferos como el oso frontino o de anteojos (único representante de los osos en Sudamérica), el coatí o guache andino y el rabipelado andino o faro. Aves como el Cóndor, el colibrí pico espada, el águila de copete y el pato de torrente. Anfibios como la ranita transparente y la salamandra andina. Entre los reptiles se puede citar la coral falsa. Otro de los lugares fantásticos que tiene Mérida, es la muy conocida Laguna de Mucubají situada entre 3625-3655 msnm, en el Parque Sierra Nevada. Es una de las más grandes de la región y se cree que el nombre de la laguna se debe a cómo la nombraban los habitantes indígenas de la región, Mucubají significa en dicho idioma "_sitio del agua grande_".

Las fotografías que se pueden tomar en este lugar pueden ser grandiosas, una laguna hermosa, rodeada de frailejones, con un entorno propio de páramo. A los alrededores de la laguna se han registrado al menos nueve especies de mariposas, destacando una especie de mariposa paramera endémica denominada _Redonda chiquinquirana_.

También quisiera hablarles del Parque Zoológico Chorros de Milla, un espacio atractivo y recreativo, atravesado por el río Milla, de ahí su nombre, allí se exhiben más de 160 animales (mamíferos, reptiles y aves) entre los que destacan el Cóndor Andino, Felinos, la Danta, Monos y Osos, entre ellos El Oso Frontino, también llamado Osos de Anteojos, el cual habita en los páramos.

Ir a Mérida y no pasar por el Zoológico es inaceptable, el recorrido es muy interesante, ya que es totalmente atravesado por un río y en cada estación hay una actividad diferente... 
_La verdad no quisiera compartir imágenes de animales enjaulados._

<b>Hay una leyenda que dice,</b> _El río Milla, del que el parque zoológico de Mérida recibe su nombre, es parte de una leyenda, que cuenta que un cacique de nombre Murachí murió en defensa de su tribu en batalla contra los conquistadores españoles, y de las lágrimas de llanto de la amada del guerrero de las Sierras Nevadas, la princesa india Tibisay, se formaron las aguas del río que ahora fluye por el terreno del zoológico y que nace junto con el río Albarregas.8 La cascada mayor del zoológico recibe el nombre de la princesa de la leyenda, Cascada Tibisay.
