When I first heard the expression, "Can't volunteer a lot?" I thought, "Why can't I volunteer a lot?" After a little research I found that it wasn't always that hard. There are many things that you can do to help, but sometimes you just don't have time! Here are some suggestions for things that you can do if you are able to make time.

One: Find out what volunteer opportunities are being offered by the club or group that you belong to. Often times they will have a specific volunteer opportunity during their calendar year. If not, then see if you can find it on your own. Most churches have youth groups or other groups that would benefit from volunteers. Often times these are very easy to find.

Two: Join an organization or group that already has many volunteers. Many organizations want members, and they often will reward those who serve in various ways. If you spend a certain amount of time working with a volunteer program, such as doing tutoring or serving at a soup kitchen, you will be given something in return. Maybe you will be given an award. Or maybe you will get to participate in an event that is designed to help people like you.

Three: Look at your local paper. Many times there will be a few spots that seem to be empty. Look in those places and see if there is a need for volunteers. Sometimes you will be able to volunteer your time and bring in a great deal of business. You never know until you try!

Four: Ask around. Chances are there are many other people like you who have also found themselves isolated because of their career. Ask them how they are finding the time to volunteer their time and help out. You never know! You may be surprised!

As you can see, you have some reasons why you can't volunteer a lot. It's OK to say "I can't volunteer a lot" and to keep searching until you find a way to do it. There are lots of organizations that need volunteers, and plenty of ways for you to volunteer your time. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. That's true for any volunteer situation.

So can you still volunteer a lot? Of course you can. Even when you can't volunteer a lot, it doesn't mean you have to sit around doing nothing. Find other ways to help out, and share what you are doing!

There are many things that can make you happy and help others at the same time. If you want to volunteer your time, then make sure that you are doing everything in your power to do so! There is definitely something out there for you. When you are in a situation where you can't volunteer a lot, consider what your options are and take full advantage of them.
