[일상] 동동주가 이래서 동동주군요.
마트에 가서 장을 보는데,

최근 좋아라하는 지평 생막걸리와 함께 옛날 동동주가 함께 진열되어 있더군요.

동동주 병 겉면에는 EBS 극한직업에 나왔다라는 표시가 되어 있어 관심이 더 갔습니다.

이건 맛이 어떨까하고 하나 집어들었죠.

집에 와서 뚜껑 따고 한잔 따랐더니 
불순물?이 함께 와르르 쏟아지길래 순간 놀랐습니다.

다시 살펴보니 쌀알이 동동 떠다니고 있었습니다.

금방 "아~ 이래서 동동주구나" 하는 생각이 들더군요.

궁금해서 또 한번 찾아봤지요.

동동주는 술을 발효시킨 후 맑은 술과 쌀알이 위로 뜬 것을 퍼 담은 것이고, 

막걸리는 동동주를 걷어낸 나머지 지케미로 걸러낸 술을 일컫는다고 합니다.

동동주 자체는 경기도 지역에서 유래된 술이라고 합니다.

>동동주는 경기도에서 유래한 전통 술이다. '동동주'란 이름은 술 위에 밥알이 동동 떠 있기 때문에 붙여졌다. 1983년 문화재관리국에서는 전국 민속주 조사보고서를 내고 경기 동동주의 제조기능자로 권오수(權五守)를 지정하였다. 1년 중 어느 때나 담글 수 있으나 특히 9~11월이 적기로 알려져 있다.

이번에 마셨던 정고집 옛날 동동주는 2013년 6월 'EBS 극한 직업 막걸리 양조장편'에 방영돼 전국적 인지도가 높은 제품이라고 합니다.

2대에 걸쳐 60여년동안 막걸리 제조 비법을 이어오고 있다고 하네요.

>'정고집 옛날 생동동주'는 옛날 방식 그대로 국내산 쌀을 저온 발효 숙성해 빚은 막걸리다. 효모를 최대한 살림으로써 쌀알이 오래 남아 있고 칼로리는 낮으면서도 영양은 풍부하며 맛이 깔끔하다. '정고집 옛날 생동동주'를 빚은 남도탁주는 2대 60여 년 동안 막걸리 제조 비법을 이어오고 있으며, 전통방식을 지키면서도 현대적 위생시설을 갖춰 정부로부터 지난 2011년 술 품질인증을 받은 전남지역 대표 양조장 가운데 하나다.

개인적으로는 한번 맛보긴 좋았지만,
제 입맛에는 그래도 지평 생막걸리가 맞네요.

아무래도 동동주는 마시는데 뭐가 떠있으니 찝찝합니다.^^
