Sure I don’t state this with the same confidence I state 
*“[Jesus has forgiven us all, and you should be accepting Jesus’ forgiveness.][1]”*
And, sure Steem has some concerns, I will cover later in this post.
But I want to talk about the positives of Steem.

We now have a way to permanently make a statement to other people on the internet. No concern about the website owner going bankrupt and closing the page. This can become a drawback in that it is unchangeable and therefore could become an unchangeable error. This negative can be dealt with, I will discuss more on that later. The second positive is that we can provide resources to people in exchange for the information that they share with us. It is important to note that the process for compensation of individuals recognizes that what the individual has presented is essentially a discovery; not a creation of unique information but the discovering of information already in existence. More on this later in the post also. Plus, transactions on Steem are recorded, like other block-chain cryptographic networks. This is designed such that bad actors can be dealt with by the public sphere of individuals on the network. Finally, Steem’s design does a good job at compensating contributors in different ways: programmers, miners, content providers, currency value speculators, shareholders.

**Indelibility**
Sounds great, who would want to change anything? Me, for starters. I don’t know if everyone else is just perfect or something, but I tend to make mistakes. So how would Steem get around this? Only through Steemit, or the other websites presenting the blockchain to the users, could this problem be correctly resolved. The original poster could add a comment with specific formatting that would activate a correction from the presenting website. The presentations of the blockchain will be different from site to site. Some sites may display the comment [correction:”Why is time”->“Why does time”][2], other sites may automate the correction, still others may permit the user to decide. 

**Compensating Content Providers**
The Steem’s process for content provider compensation is a recognition of information discovery rather than information creation. This recognition of the source of information is not simply inherent in the ideas of science, math, information theory and logic; but also more importantly, it is key in the understanding of libertarian thought process. You may be familiar with a post from one of the creators of Steem (link), I could not agree with this man more. Not to say plagiarism(using other people's hard work of discovery for one’s self gain) is acceptable on Steem. [People on Steem are given the freedom to vote down content they know may be plagiarized.][3] And, if they fail to do so, a lack of action is notable on the Steem blockchain. So if an individual does compensate someone who does not deserve that recognition they will be remembered as the individual who did so. This will naturally encourage everyone to compensate those who truly deserve compensation. The idea that we did not have a process for producing concepts but rather a process for discovering what was already generated is at its core a denial of intellectual property. This idea of intellectual property being nothing more than the discovery of already created information is key to accepting the process of Steem in compensating those who have  shared such ideas.

**Combining the Best of Past Blockchains**
I remember the articles and posts from Namecoin users worried about misuse of their blockchain. And even today the concern of the Bitcoin blockchain being used as a tool for permanent information storage. [“The blockchain will get too big” they say][4]. Well, if you are worried about a blockchain growth problem Steem is going to be your new prime example of a blockchain growing out of control. I’m not worried about it, the freedom for users to honestly use the network as it is designed will increase efficiency in the long run. Steem Power reminds me of Mintcoin encouraging people not to sell by offering the potential to earn interest. [The fact this interest is not adjusting to insure a stable currency value does give me some concern, but I am confidant that this will stabilise once user growth rate stabilizes.][5] 

The real receivers of benefits from Steem are the people who have no clue and simply use the site on the internet because they ran into it through a search engine. People who have accounts may never receive a “just reward” but it is a far cry better than any other content rewarding method created up to this date. Steem has had its own set of hiccups on it’s way, and I don’t suggest “You should join Steemit” lightly. At this point enough programmers, mining, content and financial contributions have been poured into this specific blockchain, I have confidence it is no more likely to come down than Ethereum or Litecoin.
