La poesía de Elías Nandino
**La poesía de Elías Nandino**

Elias Nandino (1900-1993) fue médico y poeta nacido en México, los temas principales de su obra inicial fueron la muerte, la noche, la inmensidad del mar y los amores platónicos.  Fue gran amigo de Xavier Villaurrutia, de quien es notoria su influencia, sobre todo al inicio de su carrera como escritor. 

Las décimas y los sonetos fueron su medio de comunicación preferido, en ocasiones utilizaba complejas descripciones anatómicas para enmarcar sus ideas. En muchos de sus escritos destaca el desamor y la constante búsqueda del ser amado; al final de su vida no tuvo ningún problema en escribir abiertamente sobre su homosexualidad.

La poesía de Nandino refleja en breves rimas una riqueza de sentimientos adolescentes y cálidos. Destaca sobre todo el compendio de poemas " conversación con el mar" (1947) dónde su tendencia melancólica intercala con su candor enamorado.
