<center><h1>What an amazing year 2017 has been!</h1>
Hello and welcome friends!

@Ma1neEvent here, (pronounced maine-event). I am so humbled by the experience I have had this year on Steemit. This platform by far has defined my life in 2017.

I joined Steemit back in May of 2017 after hearing about it from @MarketReport's Youtube Channel. I want to give a special thank you to Greg, who has helped so many people with his videos and blog posts. His videos opened my eyes to Steemit for the first time. I began to research more about Steemit on Youtube, and found many videos by @JerryBanfield, and others. I finally mustered up the courage to start my own account, after missing my chance to buy Bitcoin at around $900. I was probably only two clicks away from buying BTC, but chickened out. I did not want to make the same mistake again, and my gut told me to go for it with Steem. I am so glad that I did!

I joined Steemit and began posting about my love for Retro Gaming, Photography, and just day to day things in my life. After a couple of months, I was blessed tremendously when I came across a post from @Acidyo, who was looking to start a new curator project he was calling "Operation Curation Delegation", or @OCD. I had been trying to be as active as I knew how in the community by posting and commenting on other peoples blogs, so I applied. Thankfully, a few Steemians "vouched" for me, and I was chosen to be one of the original 20 curators for @OCD. This blessing came with is 1,000 SP delegated to me to help with curation efforts. This role as a curator transformed me as a Steemian. Suddenly, I had a purpose on the platform, and I began to see how amazing it was to help others here. Going out every day and searching for undervalued content has been a very rewarding experience. I love knowing that our work as curators is helping to maintain the retention of newer users. Thank you so much to @Acidyo, and to ALL of the @OCD Curators. You all are amazing members of the Steemit Community, and I am grateful to curate along side you!

These curation duties also lead me to eventually join up with @Gmuxx and the @muxxybot curators, which is another group I am grateful to be a part of. THANK YOU to @Gmuxx for starting this great curation initiative!

Another huge impact on my Steemit experience was when I discovered the @MinnowSupport Project on [DISCORD](https://discord.gg/t8Vzetn). This amazing groups was so much more of an impact on my life than I ever could have imagined. The people I have met and chatted with from there I think could be friends for life. I started my own Interview Radio Show on the newely formed @MSP-Waves Radio Station back in August, and have featured dozens of Steemit users on the show from all over the globe. It is a truly amazing experience chatting with, and getting to know so many talented people! I want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been on the show, helped get the show on the air, and to all of the listeners who have tuned in and supported @Ma1neEvent Interviews.

I want to give a big shout out to all of the Moderators, Witnesses, Curators, and Greeters in the Minnow Support Project as well. You all do such an amazing job helping new users, supporting the blockchain, and more. Thank you again for all that you do, You are appreciated!

Throughout the year, I also became a Jr Moderator, and eventually a full Moderator and Curator for @MinnowSupport. I am thankful that I am able to give back some time to the group that has done so much for me. It is an honor to be a part of this group, and I am excited to see what the future holds for MSP! 
<br>
I also have started becoming much more active in my photography hobby, which I do not think would have happened without Steemit. This is getting me outdoors more often, expanding my love for writing by posting blogs, and just making my overall life experience more fulfilling. I love being out in nature and taking photos, and being able to share them with an amazing audience on Steemit. Thank you to all of you who have supported my Photography Posts!

More shoutouts need to be mentioned to everyone involved in @TheAlliance, @SteemUSA, Whale Shares, @steemspeak, The Vloggers Guild, @eastcoaststeem, @spotlight, @muxxybot, @thedolphincocoon, @promo-steem, VOTU, @adsactly, and the other groups I have joined this year. These communities are what make Steemit different than other social media for me. These groups are full of talented, inspiring people, and I encourage everyone to check them out!
