In our fast and ever changing world, one needs to constantly adapt. Unfortunately, many of us are not equipped with consuming and digesting information at a quicker pace. Hence why, there are people obsessed with performance enhancing medication, whether it is natural of pharmaceutical medication. Not only that, there has been documentary and movies discussing brain performance. Limitless, a movie starring by Bradley cooper is one of famous movies on depiction about nootropics. The protagonist consumes what is called as NZT, a drug that’s allegedly unlock all neurons within a minute. As of now, in plenty forums people have been looking for the real NZT. Some said it’s caffeine, some said it’s ritalin, some said its racetams. Nootropics comes in various types and it works differently within different individuals. It may be a placebo, it may be not but from my experience as someone prescribed with some of nootropics medication, it has been a great help.

Nootropics is an umbrella terms to define supplements, drugs and substances that may improve cognition in heathy individual. Notice the definition on healthy individual. For someone with cognitive impairment, these type of medication may only alleviate the symptomps they have. For instance, Racetams, a common drugs for brain enhancement has been studied frequently. As result of these studies it is commonly known effective for people who suffer from cognitive impairment while it said that it has a placebo effect for people with healthy cognition. 

This type of supplement has its benefit for either healthy and non healthy individual. For example, it may help with better concentrations and focus.  While there are other benefits, it also important to note that nootropics works differently with different people. For someone new who wish to try nootropics, I suggest researching on more natural options such as rhodiola, turmeric and the likes. That is because pharmaceutical can be harsh with its side effect. From my personal account, using piracetam can give mild tremors and increase anxiety. While trying nootropics it is important to know that some are not FDA approved, hence it’s not regulating in the market. For example, piracetam is not FDA approved and difficult to find in USA but in other countries like Indonesia and Vietnam, it is easier to find it even in 24hr pharmaceutical chain. 

As of today, many people have taken nootropics supplement to help them stay focused or become more productive. However, one should keep in mind that taking nootropics either from pharmaceutic or traditional have its side effects. It is  also important to note while consuming medication, it is better if followed by proper nutrition.
