<div class="text-justify"> Greetings and welcome dear readers of this prestigious platform, this publication is aimed at providing answers to certain questions requested by a known user who has been the victim of considerable financial losses, products of a breach or backdoor in his metamask wallet that has affected his Binance Smart Chain account.

<div class="text-justify"> In this regard, the last few weeks have been days of consternation as many users report being victimized by scammers through the use of airdrops associated with tokens or cryptocurrencies that end up compromising the users' account. 
</div>

<div class="text-justify"> Having this scenario clear, it is valid to ask ourselves How does the scam occur? What are we as users doing to get caught up in this type of scam, to be able to answer these questions, we will rely on some publications that have been presented through the cryptonoticias portal, where a new token to whom they call VERA is reaching our metamask wallet via airdrop, at this point the token does not represent a danger, the same begins when the interaction starts by claiming tokens with the website associated with it, which ends up affecting our accounts.

<div class="text-justify"> According to investigations the problem is associated with the token contract and although I could not get data on the mode of action are many users who have been affected by this scam. 
</div>

<div class="text-justify"> The starting point begins when trying to claim a total of 800,000 VERA token, with an average value of 0.0006$ which is equivalent to an approximate amount of 480$ and according to data from CoinGecko this token has been sent to more than 6 million wallet and although already in metamask the site is marked as scam, there are still many users who naively fall for this scam.

<div class="text-justify"> At this point, when we run the option claim tokens, is requested to sign through our wallet and that is where our wallet and everything associated with it is compromised, the truth is that apparently by approving signature, what we actually do is to authorize the sending of all our resource to the scammer's wallet, which has managed to enter your account an average of 45000 USD in different tokens.

I think people should be made to be aware of the vulnerable spots in decentralized wallets. When signing transactions, just like you said, one needs to be very careful so as not to give access to scammers.

Thank you very much my friend @madridbg for such a timely warning, certainly the risk of being able to fall into scams by unscrupulous thieves is increasing, who using the ignorance of many regarding the operation of our wallets take the opportunity to commit their misdeeds.

I have heard this type of scams before, I think the best protection against it is to understand that in this environment, nobody gives anything away for nothing, and that unless we consciously participate in an airdrop (serious) they will not deposit anything in our wallet.

Below I leave a screenshot of some of the "crypto assets" that have "deposited" me, obviously I don't even think about finding out where they came from since I never requested them.

We really should know what are the vulnerable points of our wallet, and not connect it in dubious sites, we should not always be attracted by offers and airdrops, as you rightly pointed out, sign a transaction in a place like this could be accepting to transfer our funds unknowingly, we should try to be well informed and investigate the legitimacy of these sites and launch offers.
