It's been a while since I've done one of these articles, but I want to bring them back! From here on, I will be continuing my series of weekly technologies that I believe may be used immediately, to bring massive abundance to humanity, and my understanding of them.

Today's article covers a technology that has enhanced wind power by re-designing the windmill.

Recently, I heard about James Mccanney from an episode of Declare Your Independence Podcast with Ernest Hancock. 

James McCanney is a physicist that was charged to do a study of how possible it was to transition over to pure alternative energy and away from coal, oil, nuclear power systems. What he discovered was it would not be feasible to meet all energy needs using solar, wind common alternative energy technologies.

While looking into the standard windmill design he discovered how horribly inefficient they are and how costly the systems were for what you get. This led him down the path to redesigning the windmill. His design features blades that catch the wind and operate much like a planes wing causing a pressure differential from the airfoil of the blades which produces lift.

The windmill harvests the energy from the wind so efficiently he was able to pair it with an energy intensive atmospheric water generator device which converts humidity from the air to clean drinking water. The McCanney WING Generator was a finalist in the X-Prize for water abundance.

The prize awarded whomever could create a solution to produce 2,000L of water per day at a cost of $.02/day. 

## This technology could begin being implemented in small communities and off grid properties to help propel the technology forward.
