Pablo and Silas had been attacked by a crowd of people, beaten by soldiers, stoned and thrown into a dark cistern that served as a cell in a high security prison. They did not complain or focus on their problems, they reacted by praying and singing, because their hearts were firmly set on the Lord and on all that He had done for them, they knew that He would be faithful to deliver them, and even in the worst situations God is worthy of our praise.
Silas did not meditate on that circumstance that he was living nor did he despair over his situation, rather faith filled his heart. When Silas and Paul raised their voices in praise of the Lord, a violent earthquake shook the prison. His testimony was so amazing that the jailer and his entire family were saved.
If you are going through any adverse circumstance, do not stop trusting God no matter how overwhelming it may be, just believe that no problem is beyond your power.
And remember that we must praise the Lord in any circumstance of our lives and give all the glory and power to the one who lives and reigns for all eternity.
