Mrs. Redford was the class teacher of J.S.S. 1A. She had just been given the list of names of students in her class. They were just thirty. Looking through the list,
she saw a name that appeared to ring a bell. Her eyes fixed on the name as she worked on her memory. Just suddenly, she exclaimed marvellously, 'Yes, the genius! Her face litrs. Redford was delighted having in her class the most famous and the most intelligent student in the whole of J.S.S. One. That was Seyi Kelani! The boy who provided the correct answers to the questions which all his mates kept mute to. The news of his brilliant performance that day spread like wild-fire
among the staff and students of the school. Everyone now wanted to know the exceptionally brilliant boy.

Mrs. Redford was one of the most loved and respected teachers among the students. She was a highly spiritual person who saw the work of teaching beyond
classroom teaching of subjects. To her, teaching should involve preaching the word of God to the students so that they could be saved from the bondage of sin. She was very popular among the students because of her willingness to help them.
In what now looked like a tradition, Mrs Redford had won the prize for the best class teacher for three consecutive academic sessions and this automatically
made her class the best class for these sessions too. As she now had the most acclaimed best student in hert
class, she saw another chance of picking up the prize again for the new session.
She copied the names of the students in the list into the register. Picking up the register, she headed for J.S.S. 1A. She couldn't wait any longer to see the
wonder boy.
In a slow, shuffling gait, Mrs Redford walked into the large and dingy J.S.S. 1A classroom. The students, seeing her enter, stood up at once and greeted.
'Good morning, Madam! 'Good morning, students,' she said surveying
the class. 'Please, sit down,' she added and moved further into the classroom.
The students, now back on their seats, looked expectantly. Most of them were seeing Mrs. Redford for the first time. Her mission iñ their class was unknown and that exactly they waited to know. She was
definitely not their subject teacher. Meanwhile, some girls tried to assess her in her cream colour skirt and
blouse and they agreed she looked pleasant in it. 'Mummy Dammy,'a stony-faced boy whispered
to his friend who shared the seat with him.
'You know her?' the friend, an obese, asked and pulled a curious face.
'We live in the same street. She is married to a white man. They rear dogs in their house. Tough-looking
ogs! You...' 'Sh...sh.' The obese boy said quietly, putting a nger across his lips 'She is watching 'he added.
I'm Mrs Redford, your class teacher.'
The students let out a joyful cry.
*Please, listen to your names,' she said and opened the register.
‘The dogs? the obese boy reminded, his eyes popping out with interest.
‘Yes,' the stony-faced boy said understandably. 'They are big and strong. Good-looking Alsatian dogs.
They fced them with good food rich in nutrients...' 'Bring down your voice,' the obese boy cautioned, keeping an eye on Mrs. Redford who had started calling out the names. One other boy, an albino, was now half-listening to the stony-faced boy and half-listening to Mrs.
Redford. The stony-faced boy continued, 'One day, their houseboy slept off and forgot to feed the dogs. Mr. And
Mrs. Redford had left for their places of work. A woman who did their laundry was nursing a four-month old baby.
That day, the baby shit one kind shit which looked like the dog's food. While the woman was away to get a napkin to clean the shit, one of the dogs, the craziest of them.
