Liebe Fußballfans,

hier ist mein Beitrag zu dem Halbfinale der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft. Ich freue mich über eure Votes für meine Einschätzungen! Zum Finale gibt es nochmal einen Post. Danach werde ich entscheiden, ob ich weiter sportjournalistisch für euch tätig werde. Vielleicht dann wieder zur neuen Champions League Saison. 

Als ich vor 8 Jahren beim Bayerischen Rundfunk berichtete war ich wirklich verrückt nach Fußball und konnte mir nichts besseres vorstellen, als nach dem Studium Fußballberichte zu erstatten.   

Doch als ich 2013 bei der UEFA für das Champions League Finale in München voluntierte, konnte ich hinter die Kulissen des Megageschäfts schauen und entschied mich dagegen. Von da an konzentrierte ich mich allein auf @opt2o und die Kommunikation von sozialen Projekten. Ich wollte nicht zum Teil der Parallelrealität werden und den Fußballkapitalismus und das Brot und die Spiele unterstützen.

Dear soccer fans,

here is my next post about the #worldcup. I am happy about all your votes! After the semi finals I will write the last publication about the final in Moskau. After that one I will decide if I will be reporting for you about soccer again, maybe starting with the Champions League next season. 

8 years ago, when I was working at the sports desk of the Bavarian Broadcasting, I was dreaming to become a journalist reporting about soccer.

But since I volunteered for the UEFA at the Champions League Final in Munich and looked behind the scenes I decided to let it go. From this point on I just focused on @opt2o and the communication of social projects. I didn't want to be part of this parallel reality supporting capitalism as well as the bread and the games.  

At the end of this post you find a photo of me kissing the trophy.

Zurück zur WM. Am Dienstag Abend spielt Frankreich gegen Belgien. Die Franzosen waren bärenstark gegen Uruguay und konnten die Südamerikaner, die ohne Cavani im Sturm ineffizient waren, mit der Klasse von Griezmann überwinden. Jetzt geht es gegen Belgien nicht einfach so weiter. Die Mannschaft ist mit de Bruyne, Lukaku und Hazard vorne diesmal unberechenbarer. Außerdem ist Courtois hinten eine Wand. Das hat der Torwart gegen Brasilien bewiesen. Auch die Verteidigung ist mit Kompany und Vermaelen hinten stärker besetzt als die Uruguayer. Frankreich hat einen Tick mehr Weltklasse auf dem Feld, aber Belgien spielt sicherlich auf Augenhöhe. Wenn Frankreich den Ball zu lange hin und her schiebt, kann ein Konter gefährlich werden. Es wird wieder ein knappes Spiel. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, welche Mannschaft gewinnt. Wir werden es erleben.

Back to the #WorldCup in Russia. Tuesday night France plays against Belgium. The French team were strong versus Uruguay and could win with the man of the match Griezmann. The South Americans were inefficient without their scorer Cavani. Suarez alone could not show his skills. Now against the Belgian team it will be not that easy. With Lukaku, Hazard and de Bruyne they are unpredictable. Furthermore Courtois showed his skills against Brasil. He is a wall! Also the defence with Kompany and Vermaelen is stronger than the one of Uruguay. France has in total more top class players on the field but it will be on eye to eye level. If France focusses too much on ball possession a counter attack can be fatal. It will be a tight game again. I don't know who will win. We will see.

Am Mittwoch spielt dann England gegen Kroatien. Die Engländer sind bisher mehr oder weniger durch das Turnier marschiert. Schweden war auch nicht wirklich ein Stolperstein. Bisher hatten sie nicht die großen Gegner. Außer in der Vorrunde als sie gegen Belgien 1.0 verloren. Das wird sich mit Kroatien ändern. Die Kroaten sind gefährlicher als Kolumbien ohne James oder Schweden. Sie glänzten bisher in allen Belangen, schlugen Gastgeber Russland genauso wie Dänemark im Elfmeterschießen und gewannen alle Vorrundenspiele überzeugend. Mit Modric und Rakitic sind sie im Mittelfeld dominant. Die bessere Abwehr wird gewinnen. Ich bin gespannt ob Harry Kane wieder zuschlägt. Er hat bereits sechs Turniertreffer erzielt und führ die Torschützenliste an.

On Wednesday England plays agains Croatia. The english team had not that difficult a way until here. Sweden was not really holding the team back. But they didn't had the big opponent until now. Except when they lost against Belgium in the group phase. This will change with Croatia. They are much more dangerous like Columbia without James or Sweden. The team showed their skills in all ways, beating Russia and Denmark in the penalties as well as winning all games in the group phase. With Modric and Rakitic they are dominant in the midfield. The better defence will win the game. We will see if Kane is scoring again. He already shot six goals in the tournament and leads the scorer list.
