# IONChain
<p>
Before beginning to describe the IONChain project, it is important to define the term Internet of Things or IoT. The Internet of Things is more than a series of commonly used devices that have the ability to be interconnected with each other through the Internet. And when I speak of common devices, I mean refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, microwaves, air conditioning, smartwatches, medical devices, measuring devices, traffic lights, etc.
These devices have the ability to transmit all types of data to the Internet, depending on the function in which they were designed. These devices are called intelligent devices, capable of receiving orders and executing tasks remotely. It is estimated that by 2015 there were more than 14 billion IoT units manufactured worldwide and for 2020 will be 30 billion; for this reason, this industry represents an enormous potential for development.

The IONChain project improves the problems of incompatibility, security and response time presented by the IoT network and combines this technology with the blockchain technology. As a matter of fact, IoT is a distributed network and most of the interoperability problems can be solved with the blockchain technology.
IONChain introduces two new concepts at a general level: "Everything could be a mining machine" and "one device, one coin, one code". The first indicates that when IoT devices are connected to the IONChain ecosystem, they can generate profits by starting to mine through IONChain's "ionization algorithm". This benefit comes in the form of an IONC token, the native token of the platform, ERC20 complain. In this way, both companies and consumers will be motivated to connect the IoT devices to the IONChain network.
The second concept refers to a "device" IoT, which undermines a single type of "coin", IONC token, and the word "code" refers to a unique identification for the device when it is connected to the IONChain network; the identification links the device with the data it transmits or uploads to the network.
IONChain creates a new technology called *edge computing*, a framework to meet the demand for responses in real time.
# IONChain’s ionization algorithm

IONChain is similar to other blockchain projects. The architecture of IONChain includes layers of application, service, protocol, smart contract, blockchain and storage. However, on these strata lies the key IONChain key: the ionization algorithm.
The ionization algorithm separates the creation of the value and the transfer of the value, through different consensus algorithms for the different design platforms of the IoT devices.
* **Value creation system**: this system consists of 4 layers: value creation, value verification, value evaluation, and value confirmation. Both the IoT device and the edge computing center combine to create the value.
* **Value transfer system**: this is the part that involves the creation of dAPPs, smart contracts and defines both the blockchain consensus (IPOS, improved PoS) and the storage system (IPFS). The system consists of 6 layers: application layer, service, protocol, smart contact, blockchain and data storage.
# IONChain’s use cases

1. **Creating a data trading market**. IONChain will give rise to a new market for the exchange of data generated by IoT devices. IONChain ecosystem participants can upload their data to the system network and quantify it in IONC tokens; In this way, they can sell this data to companies that require this type of data. Example of this: the owners of vehicles can authorize the companies to use the data loaded to the network that they require, as long as they pay the estimated value of this information.
2. **Realizing the real sharing economy**. With the use of IONChain, everyone can become a renter. IONChain can automate the permission of the use of an IoT device through a smart contract and charge a commission for it. Example of that: A company which offers internet service in an airport, computers can be part of the IONChain network and activate the internet service for a fee in IONC token.
3. **Security and privacy protection**. All the information that the user loads through an IoT device connected to the IONChain network is stored in a distributed and encrypted manner, which not only ensures users privacy and data security but also, the users are the only ones who have access allowed to their information. IONChain, allows to quantify this data in IONC tokens and allows the user to give authorization to others on it.
4. **Edge computing to improve user experience**. IONChain uses edge computing technology to improve the response time between IoT devices, by implementing the use of more nearby nodes, in this way it is possible to break the standard of use of private clouds that slow down operations. Example of this are the businesses that have warehouses and require keeping their inventories updated at a general level; To achieve the greatest efficiency in the response of the devices, it is necessary to use the IONChain network and implement more nodes close to the warehouses.
